Default The Team that had the Worst Day 1?

I know that many of you willl vote for Denver, because of that terrible trade they made to get Tebow. San Diego trading that far up to get a RB out of Fresno State and ignoring their defensive needs was also very bad. But the team that did the WORST was the St. Louis Rams. Now many of you will not believe this. After all, they got Bradford, everyone's #1 pick. So how did they lose? That answer is simple.

Let's examine this years QB crop. There is no star. Bradford is damaged goods. McCoy and Tebow do not have much of an arm. All three played in a spread offense. Clausen has the strongest arm, and played in a Pro style offense, but did not show much in the leadership or judgement fields. It is impossible to say which one, if any of these guys will be a huge success. I could make arguments for or against each and every one of these guys. We simply do not know.

This is where the Rams blew it. We all know that they needed a QB. We also knew that there was no way all 4 of those QB's would be taken in the 1st round. The Rams should have taken DT Suh to fill a huge hole in their defense. They still would have been able to take either McCoy or Clausen in the 2nd round with their first pick. They could have had a great draft. They could have taken the best player in the draft and still taken a solid QB prospect in the 2nd round. They have the first pick. But the Rams got caught in all of the Bradford hype. They blew a golden opportunity to get two for the price of one. This is what happens when you have incompetents running the front office. Opportunities get wasted.

    Bigdaddy,
I agree, Suh was the best player for any team to draft, Rams blew it! Bradford will not turn the RAMS around.

Have to vote for the Broncos. Big time reach for a QB who may be nothing more than a "wildcat" QB.

All this year's QBs are worthless. Whoever took a QB are the loser teams.

    1st pick=drafted suh
    2nd pick= trade for m vick
    3rd= defense which they did
4th pick= draft gilyard (they did i like this pick)
    5th pick= drafted lefevour

No way of knowing a good Qb would be available in the second round. That being said, they should have still tried to shop Bradford with all that time in between rounds 1 and 2....Trade Brad to the Browns for a ton of picks, draft Clausen in second round and save a ton of money/cap room.

Tim should do okay. Once he gets in the quarterback club everything well be good. They watch after their own. I mean there must be some sort of club. Farve and Manning bailed Brees out.

I don't think Mays will be any different than Roy Williams, not the kind of safety I'd want on my team.

    Money Clip or bust???

Well BDQH.. your Bears ended up drafting my choice of QB that will most likely excell in the NFL... lets see how he pans out

Rd 6, Pick 12 (181) LeFevour, Dan QB

LeFevour is a four-year starter at a mid level college football program that flashes a lot of what teams are looking for but will need to develop several parts of his game if he wants to play at the next level. He does not take many snaps from under center and will need to work on dropping to the pocket and reading the coverage as he sets up. He has a decent arm but the ball will flutter, at times, when trying to thread the needle on some downfield throws. When he has time and room to step into his throws he can get some zip on the short to intermediate outs.

With the history of the Bears Org.. having the eye for a good quality QB this does not look good on Dans part but we shall see....

denver and jacksonville had the worst first days, reaching for players who clearly didn't belong to be picked where they were.

While I agree the Rams should have taken Suh, I think part of the motivation to take Bradford was to get the city excited about football again. I don't doubt that Suh is the most talented player in this year's draft, but it's a little easier to sell the notion that a franchise is rebuilding itself with a young new QB at the helm. I don't agree with their decision, but to a small extent, I understand.

Does anyone think a team would have jumped on Tebow in first round if Broncos never?

why s.d they needed a rb and they really like the kid from fresno he would have been gone by the mid teens so they traded up and got him he was the second best back in the draft

The Rams should have taken Mel Kiper's advice and take Suh as first round pick.

I predict Bradford will injure his arm and A.J. Freely will be the Rams starter QB for the rest of the season. They helped the Lions get stronger.

Do your homework. Several teams were going to pick up Tebow in the 1st round. The Bills, Vikings and Patriots. This is fact.
