Default Colts vs. Panthers

Just took the Colts at -6.5. Everyone is wrapped up in New England that they forget about this team. The Colts are 4-2 ATS. The Panthers are a worse team than the Jags.

They also pushed against Houston for anyone who had them at 6, so they have definitely played well and been a good bet this year.

Panthers have been a bad home team for the past couple of years.

Carolina QB situation is still fuzzy - bad back Carr or 100 year old Vinny?

Carolina has not shown the ability to run the ball down peoples throats this year.

I know Indy is coming off a short week and back on the road again and has NE the following week, but I think the Colts cover here... The only thing that gives me pause is the health of their left OT.

This is the best team in the AFC's toughest division, on a roll, against a mediocre NFC team from one of the weakest divisions in the NFL. Houston, the team with the worst record in the AFC South, beat Carolina by 13 in Carolina.

Essentially, looking at the stats, the Panthers are down in the middle of the pack or worse in every major category, except running. The Panthers have an OK running game. But that will not be enough. The Colts' defense is stout.

The Panthers' four wins have been against the Rams, Falcons, Saints, and Cardinals. They haven't seen the likes of the Colts.

Here is a key to me: The Panthers' D line has only 4 sacks on the season, the fewest in the NFL. Peyton Manning, with time, will light up Carolina. They will be talking about Peyton's big passing game come Monday.

The Panthers have two things going for them: (1) home field, and (2) they're coming off a bye while the Colts are on a short week. I don't think those will be enough.

Testaverde or Carr, I don't think it matters one bit. I say the Panthers get beat badly.

I agree with everyone on this spread. The pats' headlines are overshadowing the colts. Sure, this isn't the same team that puts up rediculous numbers on offense, but they are more managable with the clock, balanced on offense, and have a better D that won them the superbowl in their playoff push. They should easily handle a Panthers team that has a shaky QB, a better rushing attack due to zone blocking, and only one good WR (albeit, he is unreal). The panthers D can't hang with the Offense of the colts. Peyton and Co. will cover whatever steve smith and the zone blocking can throw at them.

I think that Manning is looking forward more to the Pats game and less to this sad NFC team. I saw that Big Old Tom brady isnt sweeting anything he was on South Beach with his hot ass model girl friend! why does he even have to practice just show up and throw to MOSS!! i think let the line get above 7 then take carolina this game has look ahead all over it! THIS IS WHY WE PLAY THE GAMES like my man Denny Green said last year about this time!

Carolina is a very good dog. Not so good as favorite. In other words, they play to the level of the opposition.

This is a sandwich game for Indy. 97% is on Colts ATS, so line will go to 7. Early lean Panthers.

Don't the Panthers usually play the Colts hard and either beat them or nearly beat them last year? Panthers play harder against the Colts, Colts may slack off a little. Colts to win, may not cover.

Dont forget how much panthers hate the patriots, would love to ruin the undefeated showdown. Yes, i think the panthers have a shot to win this one. Havnt won at home yet this season, jobs are on the line this season, need a signature win, all other wins vs crap teams.

My $.02, gonna bet panthers.

The Colts will cover. We had this discussion last week about the Colts playing the Jags. The Colts covered easy in that game, and they will again.

I just read that the 150 year old Testicle is gonna start in favor of the broken down Carr. That actually makes me rethink my pick of the Colts. Even though the Testicle has had one one good season in 21, he's still better than the Carr.

I will be picking the Colts as one of my major plays this week. The Colts are playing great. They have played some tough teams and they are cleaning up on the road. They will not overlook the Panthers because they want to go in undefeated against the Patriots. I think the Colts defense will really put some pressure on Testaverde and create a turnover for a score. They will also balance their running attact with Addai and Keith.

I just laid another bet on the Colts because I think this such a strong play. No one is talking about this game which I think is a good thing. Everyone is talking about London and the NE INDY game. Colts are just going to go in and take care of business like usual.

I hope the Colts can save their strength for what will be a tough game. Carolina is no sloutch... and with Marvin Harrison out, thats one less weapon for Manning

Colts are very good but it may be a closer game than everyone else thinks here, if Colts turn it over too much then it will be closer than everyone thinks in this game.
