Default Terry Bradshaw: Roethlisberger Has Steelers Owners 'Steaming'

Steelers legend Terry Bradshaw didn't hesitate to chastise the team's current quarterback earlier in the week, and now he's at it again. The FOX NFL analyst told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that Ben Roethlisberger is creating a bad situation for the team's owners.
The Rooney family members who own the team "are steaming," Bradshaw explained. He also said that the team wouldn't hesitate to "unload him" should another incident happen. If so, "he's gone," the Hall of Famer said.
Roethlisberger was accused of sexually assaulting a woman in March, the second such accusation he has faced in less than a year. Authorities decided not to pursue charges, but the district attorney hardly spared him any criticism. A Pittsburgh sponsor has dropped Roethlisberger, and a team suspension is likely. The only praise Roethlisberger has gotten lately is for his (belated) decision to cut his hair.

If he doesnt get suspended from the league, the rooneys will. I say he will be traded within 2 years

2 years? The Steelers are trying to trade him right NOW.

The man has won 2 superbowls and hasnt been convicted of anything, not even a speeding ticket, so everyone needs to calm down a little. I do think the NFL should punish him though. I know he is not guilty of any crime in any court of the U.S., but he is guilty of bad judgement by the NFL. I dont care if he raped these chicks or just fingerbanged them through their pretty pink panties. You don't put yourself in those situations time & time again. He needs to grow up & quit hangin' in bars drunk with drunk college chicks. I know its easier said than done as I am 33 and do the same shit, but I am not a role model making millions and the face of a storied NFL franchise. If I were I would pay for hookers like a responsible citizen!

    A voice of reason...How refreshing!!!

He wasn't charged. He wasn't arrested. He didn't go to court. He has not been found guilty of any crime (other than extremely poor judgement).

That having been said, I don't have major heartburn if the NFL/Steelers sit him for two games for extreme stupidity...

But the idea that the NFL HAS to suspend him so it doesn't appear to be showing favoritism to a white QB in a league that's 70% black is, IMHO, bovine scatology.

Exactly Doc! All the players that get suspended actually broke the law & were convicted of it by US courts. Ben has not done that, so if they dont suspend him I'm not upset. They should make it clear to him though that this behavior has to stop or there will be consequences, but he hasnt been convicted of a gun crime, running an illegal gambling ring, or untold counts of animal cruelty. I'm sorry that all these athletes getting suspended are black, but those are the odds. Ben hasnt broken the law, just used piss poor judgement.

    Disgusting attitude, disgusting comment.

They had the evidence destroyed, Ben got away with rape because he's rich and famous and everybody knows it.

it was kinda fishy that the club owner had those tapes erased when clearly the police had an interest in obtaining said tapes.

either big ben paid him off or he is one incredibly fortunate guy.

I will not agrue the point that those people who have the financial wherewithall to pay for the very best representation get a better shake in the justice system...

But what I KNOW is: He wasn't charged. He wasn't arrested. There will be no trial. And he will not be found guilty of anything in a court of law. Now, you can THINK whatever the hell you want, but that's all you KNOW...

exactly! stick with the facts. How many college sluts want to try & frame a millionaire? Im not saying hes innocent or guilty, Im not a judge or jury, but I trust his version just as much as a drunk college girl. But I havent heard both stories in detail, and no one will. So let it be

Just for the record, I am not someone who assumes that you should always assume charges against celebrities are true or that you should 100% always believe rape charges. I was on the right side of both the Kobe and Duke LaX cases.

The fact that this club in the middle of nowhere recorded over this DVD requires explanation. Destruction of evidence shows a guilty mind. Then suddenly the victim doesn't want to press charges and goes into seclusion (typical behavior for rape victims) Ben's story was shit as well. If I remember right it went along the lines of "there was no sex, and she hit her head falling down some stairs." I know Big Ben is guilty the same way we knew O.J. killed Nicole the minute he fled in the white bronco and threatened suicide.

Innocent until proven guilty only applies to consequences from the courts. Big Ben deserves to be haunted by the rapist label to the grave in the same way Michael Jackson's pedophile label followed him. The only way he will ever redeem himself is by apologizing to his victims and doing whatever it takes to make it right.

You make me want to puke. How the **** can you look at the facts of the case and come up with "college sluts" trying to "frame" Ben. Just because women don't like your tiny prick doesn't mean you should show them this level of contempt, you chauvinist pig.

really?? neither stories are credible, that's why big ben is walking. proof beyond a reasonable doubt cannot be established to confirm either story.

I'm sorry if I offended you, I'm just making a point. I dont judge either one, he's probably guilty, but she could be making up lies as young women have been known to do. I don't care. I'm just talking about what the NFL should do about it. He's not guilty by a US court and thats the way it is

Oh yes, being a nobody and accusing a powerful man of rape is a quick and easy way to make a buck and improve your life. It always goes so smoothly. What century are you living in? Your attitudes about "broke drunk college girls" and their "pretty pink panties" suggest you really are clueless about women.

Of course athletes have to deal with gold diggers, but I understand their playbook is to either get him to fall in love with you or get pregnant.

Well, apology accepted, it's just when you wrote "I don't care if he raped them" I kind of saw red.

Of course you need a very high standard of proof if you are going to throw someone in jail. The old "let ten guilty men go free" thing and all that.

If he's in civil trouble for another assault and almost certainly did this rape, the court of public opinion is another matter. He certainly doesn't deserve to wear the uniform of a great franchise like the Steelers. He should be suspended, exiled to a shit team like the Raiders and booed for the rest of his career. I wouldn't mind if the refs looked the other way on questionable hits as well.

actually, he's correct about this. even over time it has not been easier to sue "upwards" from lower status to higher. But, the number of attempts to sue upwards has increased, mostly due to pop. increase and change in legal culture over time. this case could be filed under such a category.

I obviously didnt mean that the way you took it. I don't want anyone to get raped, I just meant that I don't care, the league shouldnt care, whatever, hes not been convicted of a crime so shouldnt be punished in the same manner as the ones that have.
