Default Lions to sign RB Thomas Jones

    Link

Not a big fan of stopgaps at RB, especially those over the age of 30.

    But, it IS an upgrade.

Stopgap? Jones still has alot of tread on those tires. He hasn't shown any signs of decreasing production, unlike the other backs being released this year

depends on how much they are paying him but I think this is a good sign.

The Lions are building something interesting in Detroit. Lots of quality players going to Detroit. They've still got a big draft to go!

Lions are having a very good offseason so far. Jones should help there running game, Burleson gives them a #2 WR and KVB at the least brings some experience and leadership to their defense

I do think Jones has some good miles left but remember he was working behind one of the best o-lines with the jets.

I like the Lions moves in free agency but they still need alot of other improvements to be competitive.

this was a dumb move from a locker room chemistry standpoint.

Whoever gets Thomas Jones makes the playoffs.

Jets DO NOT NEED Thomas Jones. Remember what Shon Greene did in the playoffs - 2 135 yard games. Plus Shon Greene is 20 lbs heavier that Thomas Jones and 10 years younger.

I like Thomas Jones. Bears blew it when they let Thomas Jones go. I hope he does not go to the Lions. Like the previous post indicated, he had a good offensive line with the Jets. I hope he gets with a team with a good offensive line. If he goes to the Lions, he will get beat up

I think this move along with bringing in Nate Burleson will take some pressure off Matthew Stafford. They also got help on their defensive line by signing Kyle Vanden Bosch and Cory Williams. Maybe they can draft DT Ndamukong Suh also. If they can win 8 games that would be a big move in the right direction for this franchise.

    Yea great

most rbs seen like stop gaps anyway. They are always injured and aging when good rookies come by all the time

Haha...didn't take long to be wrong on this one. Chiefs Chiefs Chiefs...another good signing for the Chiefs! If they can find themselves another WR opposite of D.B...they may actually have an offense now! J. Charles and Thomas Jones, coupled with Cassel and Bowe...they are getting some solid weapons in there...great GMing going on there, no surprise from the Pats machine though.

Jones went to the chiefs and he hadn't even scheduled a visit with anyone else but the chiefs. So why would you start a thread that he is going to a team that he wasn't even visiting with????

Well, the AFC West is so weak, maybe the Chiefs can do some magic this year.
