    Default In a few words what would describe your teams year next year

    pivotal= PATROITS

  2. #2

    Default

    Underachieving = Cowboys

    One of the most stacked teams in the league but they can't produce.

  3. #3

    Default

    fearful = bengals

    extremely tough schedule on paper.

    Home- ravens, steelers, dolphins, saints, chargers
    away- steelers, ravens, pats, jets, panthers, falcons, colts

    Imo, all those teams are on the up swing or are already at their pinnacle(chargers, saints, colts.)

    Colts=Chokers

    Gotta love them for double digit wins every year. But in the playoffs, Manning=Mediocre.

    Disappointing. Bears.

    Unless they something shocking like get a defense and get rid of Lovie.

    Maybe if Urlacher can stay healthy for one season the D can shine.

    I still like Cutler if he can get a good OC, QB coach, WRs, etc.

    Don't give up on Lovie. I don't think he's getting the management support he needs.

    Bears = yuck

    I don't even have words for this. They are in complete shambles right now. Veterans are on the downswing, coaching is being questioned...I'm settling in for a 5-7 win season next year..

    Dude. Bears got 7 wins last year in a season where everything went wrong.

    The Bears are good for 9 wins next year if they can fix just half the problems.

    I am a Bears fan, but I am realistic about things. Their last two wins came in the last two weeks of the season, and one of those wins was against Detroit. They were out of the playoff race by then. The Bears record against playoff teams last year was 1-6. That is not acceptable. Neither is a defense that gave up 30 or more points 5 times last season.

    Lovie has failed to get this team into the playoffs three years in a row now. Every year the Bears have a different excuse. In 2008 the Bears blamed their offense, which averaged 23 points per game, so they go out and get a new QB. Last season they average 21 points per game, and 19 points per game in their first 14 games. They gave up more points last year than they scored. This year they play both the AFC and NFC East, certainly more difficult than last year's schedule which featured the NFC West and AFC North. On top of all this, they have no draft pick in the first couple of rounds.

    The Bears defense has been their major problem of late. They have fallen far behind Minnesota's defense and further behind Green Bay's defense. Both of these teams have offenses far better than the Bears can hope to achieve this season. Lovie runs the defense. If he can not get this defense to play like they did three years ago, the Bears will be a .500 team, and have no chance at the playoffs. The Bears have their O.C. There is no excuses for this season so far. If the Bears stay healthy, and fail to get into the playoffs, Lovie has to go. That is what will happen this season.

    Good point about the draft picks, BigdaddyHQ. I forgot about that. I was hoping maybe they could get a WR in the 2nd round.

    Bringing in Mike Martz as OC and Mike Tice as O-line coach should be interesting. Talk about a trial by fire! It will be do or die for the Bears coaching staff which also boasts Rod Marinelli @ DC. I wonder if there's ever been a coaching staff with more former NFL head coaches. It will be do or die for Lovie, who will have no excuses this year if they don't make the playoffs. Maybe this will actually work to the Bears' advantage to help motivate the team.

    With the investment in Cutler, he really does need to save the team this year. He's far enough into his career that he ought to be able to carry this team if ever. I'm not worried about the defense, though. They've got enough players and good enough coaching staff to get it done. Cutler alone should be enough to will this team to 7 or 8 wins. Defensive leaders like Urlacher will be the difference whether they can get into the playoffs, much less win any playoff games.

    Tough division, though. They finished strong, but I can't see them beating up the Steelers, Ravens & Bengals.

    They still should qualify, as NFC west is the weakest division in the league, but will not go far.

    The Bears will be in trouble next year without additions to both the OL & DL as well as receivers. Oh they also need help at safety. Maybe at RB too. Maybe the draft will help, oh forgot they have no draft picks. Bye, bye Lovie...
