Here is how these two teams break down in the playoffs. The Saints have scored 28 21 17 7. The Colts have scored 3 27 7 13. So 48 points have been scored in the 2nd quarter, more than any other quarter. That is why the prop is set the way it is. Here is the sucker play. Most people think that the 4th quarter will see the most points, especially from these two offensive minded teams. The fact is that these two teams combined have scored 78 points in the 1st half, but only 44 in the 2nd half.

As far as the other prop that you like, notice the progression of the Saints scoring. It gets lower as the game progresses. My guess is that the computers that spit tihs information out, think that if the Saints are down in the 4th Quarter, they will turn the ball over and give up points.

My best wager in the entire game is the under in the 2nd half. Just remember this. Prop wagers are generated to give the book the biggest edge possible and still get some action. They are huge money makers. These two are not bad, but if you are goin g to go for them, use good money management techniques. Do not unload on any prop wager.

Too many Super Bowl are blowouts, teams take crazy chances early if they get behind a couple of scores 16.5 at -135 well that is playing with fire. Why second quarter high scoring? Drives going on near the end of the first quarter are not in any hurry letting them go into the 2nd quarter is common (while drives going on near the end of 2nd quarter must score in 2nd quarter), 6 timeouts and 2 minute warning extend the second and 4th quarters. You have watched football before, right?

I do watch football on a normal bases. I totally understand what you said, just never really thought about it like that. Thanks for pointing it out. What would you play if you had to play those 2?
