Lightbulb Dwight Freeny = bad news for Colts Defense

This is one of the many reasons why I wait to last possible moments to make my final decision on NFL plays
Dwight is doubtful to play in the Superbowl in account of his ankle do to it hindering him
("complete tear of ligament!") he also decided not to walk out on to the field for introduction ceremony in the Pro-bowl.
Peyton can try to sugar coat this situation all he wants but the fact is Dwight is irreplaceable.Let me put it to you this way Dwight to the Colts Defense is as important as Peyton to the Colts offense which will be a major factor on the outcome of game now: Meaning the over has a greater chance now and the Saints have a greater chance to cover spread if not win outright as of now if I had to make a bet it would be Saints +5 1/2. I don't bet totals but if I had a gun to my head it would be over as of now also Don't be surprised if line don't drop to 4 1/2 or even 3 1/2 by game time if there is a spike on Saints action. If there is no spike well then line should stay close to where it is.

Just like all of you buys who thought that Tebow would not play in the LSU game. This news is so important that the line did not budge when ESPN was talking about the injury last night. You guys will get sucked in again, just like you did when you thought Tebow would not play against LSU. Anyone who knows anything about gaming knows that the truth will not be known until game time. Then it will be too late for you to get down on the game. If you are amateur enough to believe what the news media tells you, you deserve to lose all of your money. If you are planning on taking the Saints, assume that he is going to play. If you pare planning on taking the Colts, assume that he is not going to play. Always assume the worst, and go from there.

He'll be lucky to be 40% were talking about a 6 to 8 week injury here boys. He might be good for 2 plays only if he has enough numbness pumped into him

Without Freeney, the Colts won't stop Brees either.

Taking the over is looking better than ever.

Freeney is not Indy's entire D... They got some other playmakers as well (Mathis, Session, Bethea) so yes it is a loss but I wouldn't be too worried about Indy's defensive performance.

This hurts, but I still like the Colts. It'd be nice if the line went down a little bit b/c of this though

Indy will now play with 10 men on defense, nobody will fill Freeney's spot and Indy actually only has 10 men on their entire defensive roster and no back-ups that are pro's or whoever played football in their lives.

this doesn't mean a damn thing......................more money will flow into new orleans which means vegas will rake in huge profits with a COLT's blowout of the sentimental team

Raheem Brock will take Freeney's spot if need be! Obviously he can't rush the QB like Freeney but he's pretty good against the run which is prob more important to the Saints in controlling the clock! He's a playmaker too....caused a Ray Rice fumble 25 yards down the field in the 2nd round playoff game...not bad for a d-lineman! I still like Indy without Freeney.....maybe 34-30 or 34-27....in other words I like Over 56.5 better than the side if Freeney can't go? Freeney just playing on 3rd downs could make a big difference for Indy?

Couldn't agree more. Espn is just looking for shit to talk about right now, I'm suprised Manning hasn't all of the sudden gotten swine flu or some other rumor BS.

Over the last 3 seasons the colts are 31-7 with Freeney and 8-2 without him. They give up 310 ypg with him and 309 without. 19 ppg with and 18 without. 1.9 sacks with and 1.8 without. Simply put I still like the Colts -6

Most of those games were in 2007 when Freeney was lost for the season halfway through the year. Check out the records of some of those teams played without Freeney: 4-12, 3-13, 4-12, 4-12, 8-8 with offensive rankings of 31, 25, 23, 22, 14 respectively. They didn't really need Freeney to handle those powder puffs.

But they also played 3 playoff teams without Freeney: Chargers, Titans, Jags. Interestingly, they played these 3 teams both WITH and WITHOUT Freeney:

With Freeney: Chargers 177 yards, Jaguars 226 yards, Titans 313 yards
w/o Freeney: Chargers 411 yards, Jaguars 411 yards, Titans 356 yards

In the games that matter, against playoff teams, Freeney was sorely missed.

This is true but Freeney a 75% is about like a normal D-Linemen in NFL..

How about Peyton Manning, Wayne, Garcon, Clark=Bad news for Saints 25th ranked Defense?

Especially when Colts don't turn the ball over

Overhyped injury and no line movements...begging for more bets on the Saints and the over.

Colts +5.5 and under 57 is the play.

dwight freenys injury weather he plays or not is there reason for now going on the saints, they will be able to double mathis without having to worry as much about the other D-end and will run the ball towards freeny's side with bush and thomas a lot.

You Colts backers are making me laugh, truth is deep down you all are wishing you would have waited to make your plays so now you are boasting among yourselves trying to justify your early siding mistakes on pure unreality because of self pride but deep down you all know Freeny's injury will have a major effect on the outcome in Saints favor

I wish we could find something else to hear about on the sports news. What would the news people be talking about had the injury not happened?

I'm a Colt fan (Don't confuse that with bettor), but have no major worry about Freeney being out. If it was Manning, Saturday or Clark, I'd be concerned. I just want a good football game no matter who plays. That should be the case as long as Manning doesn't get hurt.

BTW, Dallas Clark may be a good choice for MVP if you like the Colts to win.
