    Stop Dwight Freeny injury will be a major Factor whether he plays or not

    This is one of the many reasons why I wait to last possible moments to make my final decision on NFL plays
    Dwight is doubtful to play in the Superbowl in account of his ankle do to it hindering him
    ("complete tear of ligament!") he also decided not to walk out on to the field for introduction ceremony in the Pro-bowl.
    Peyton can try to sugar coat this situation all he wants but the fact is Dwight is irreplaceable.Let me put it to you this way Dwight to the Colts Defense is as important as Peyton to the Colts offense which will be a major factor on the outcome of game now: Meaning the over has a greater chance now and the Saints have a greater chance to cover spread if not win outright as of now if I had to make a bet it would be Saints +5 1/2. I don't bet totals but if I had a gun to my head it would be over as of now also Don't be surprised if line don't drop to 4 1/2 or even 3 1/2 by game time if there is a spike on Saints action.If there is no spike well then line should stay close to where it is.

    Even though I'm on the Saints myself...I am a firm believer that with today's modern medicine and Dwights determination to play he'll be there on Sunday. A cortizone shot and some pain meds and he'll be there. Maybe not 100% but 75% and that's still better than most players 100%.
    These little head games that are played with comments about hurting Peyton and Dwight not playing....are just that psycological b.s. Block this stuff out and cap like you never heard it and like Pauly said waiting until as late as you can will usually lead to a better decision if you're on the fence about who to take. Goodluck everyone.

    I dont know, with the type of player Freeney is (twisting, spinning ,turning) there could not be a worse injury it would not be as big of deal if he were an interior lineman, He is a relentless pass rusher and if he is only 75% Brees will pick them appart, but I will take the Colts in a shootout,

    He's questionable..not doubtful. It will be a "gametime decision" of course. But If there was a line on whether he plays or not....I'd bet he does. It's the Superbowl, he'll have plenty of time to rest after this Sunday.

    Dallas Clark and Reggie Wayne were relatively quiet vs the Jets. Look for them to have strong performances, esp Wayne and his downfield blocking. He is one of the best blocking receivers in the league.

    Raheem Brock is not a slouch in replacing Freeney also. He and Matchis will be ok. As Dungy taught well, "Next man up".

    One thing I saw when they panned the camera on Freeney he showed no signs of pain on his face. Could be a load of BS

    I definately see saints coverin but i dont see the winning. Even with the potential injuries on the colts side i believe they will still come off with a win however i also believe that this is all hype and is aiding to build tensions for both sides of the ball in the eyes of the fans.

    I expect # 93 to play just not every down so when he is in there they get the most out of him. I still belive the colts O is why we win game so how in the he'll win the saints going stop all of our wepons

    He'll play. But, not sure how long or how good. Freeney is speed player and this injury will definately hinder him.

    NFL betting History tells that the team covering the spread will usually win an NFL game so I don't like saying one team will win, but not cover ATS.

    Yes +110 /No -140

    All the "experts" are predicting a scorefest and back and forth play so why wouldn't it be tied at some point. Seems more likely than not which makes the juice seem curious. With that said I am on this for a unit or two , nothing big.

    Here is some interesting facts: Every game this season in which Freeny did not contribute but still played meaning he had no tackles or pressure what I'm trying to say Dwight was basically a waste of space on the gridiron and the Colts Damn near lost every single one of those games

    The game he did not play at all in they beat Houston by 8 points which is 1 more point than all 3 of Freeny's half assed episodes combined which is 7 measly points!!!

    I am now pretty much convinced that the Saints are going to at-least cover the spread here boys, after-all this is all that matters if your play is Saints +4 1/2 or better, who cares who wins just pay the sucka


    Bottom line Freeny is = to Kryptonite to the Colts DeFense if he tries to play

    classic case of faking an injury to even out the betting money for vegas. expect him to play and make a difference in the game. i'm predicting 2 sacks + 2 forced fumbled for feeney ........................................ .............................

    I think he will play. How good??? I think it will be a battle and will take the points. It could be last team with the ball wins or worst case Colts get up 10 or so late and Brees back doors them.

    i agree with paulypoker..its a torn ligament! not a sprained ankle..he can play for maybe a quarter with the shots players get these days but other than that he is done..im sorry a torn ligament is just impossible to play on..that's like saying a quarterback is going to play with a torn throwing shoulder..just isnt' gonna be effective

    Don't really consider the colts as being a tricky team that would fake injuries or other underhanded stuff (unlike NE and Belichick). I'd take the colts injury report at face value. Favorites have been overrated (and overconfident) the last few SB. Plus I would love to see New Orleans celebrate. I'm takin the Saints to win for a 30pk of Bud. Let the party begin. Cheers.
