    Default Bye Bye Brett Favre

In a hastily-called press conference late Monday night, Vikings quarterback Brett Favre announced his retirement from the 2010 Pro Bowl. "Physically, I'm just not sure I have it in me to play another Pro Bowl," a teary-eyed Favre said. "I've given everything I have to the… the… the team I last played for, whoever they were." Favre said he briefly considered playing in the Pro Bowl, but didn't think he could top his performance in the NFC Championship Game, when he threw an interception at the end of regulation that may have cost the Vikings a trip to the Super Bowl. "As the career interceptions leader, it really was the perfect way to end my career," he said. Tony Romo was named to the NFC roster as Favre's replacement, and is expected to compete with Favre for the starting job when the Vikings QB comes out of retirement Friday afternoon.

That is the best thing for the Vikings and everyone who ever watches sports center. Hopefully we won't be hearing in July that he wants to play again.

ahh so upset. I love Brett Farve but he needs to do what is best for him and for football....they prob asked him to leave as a result of his messups this season.

I'll bet he's back. Probably a different team with the same result--a devastating final interception in his final pass. Favre's a choke artist.

Some funny stuff. I love watching him play but I hate the circus he creates.

Now that Warner has gone and with the speech he gave about family etc, you can bet Brett's wife is on his ass to do the same..

rumors are swirling that Brett Favre will come out of his 2010 pro-bowl retirement at half-time of game and start the 3rd quarter for the NFC before retiring again at the start of the 4th.

The Jets had him under contract, but released him. I'm not sure the contract is relevant.

But I agree that he's coming back. Until he gets hit so hard he can't get up, he's coming back.

Favre is like one of those old boxers that just didn't know when to quit. He'll play until nobody will sign him. Lucky for him, he's at the top of his game despite his age. If Favre had a Jake Delhomme type year, he'd be out of the NFL.

no sons but he does have a nephew!!! he is already a stud look at these stats from high school...

He broke the Mississippi state record for career touchdown passes. By 40. He accounted for 81 touchdowns (63 throwing, 18 rushing) as a senior. In the Class 4A state title game earlier this month, he led his team to victory by passing for 369 yards and three touchdowns as a quarterback and recording 16 tackles and one interception as a safety. He even averaged 41.4 yards per punt this past season.

Favre threw for 5,589 yards and rushed for 1,265 in 2009

the only downfall on him is he is only 5 foot 11, but he has favre blood and look a brees he is a short guy by qb standards
