I doubt they did, these days if it gets out you are in deep shit... but they sure as hell took cheap shots at Warner (head slaps, etc) and Farve. The hit Warner took on the interception was legal, but chicken shit. Cardinals should have slammed Brees to the ground the first time they got a chance, even if penalty was inevitable.

I wonder can Manning take the abuse ??

the only people getting abused in this game will be the saints defense. the vikings kicked the saints ass on their home turf. this colts team will go for the kill early and often.

No...they wanted him in there. He is about the only guy who would throw a pick in the situation he did. They made sure he wasnt hurt too bad just a little banged up.

Yeah the Saints defense got torched. If not for what 4 turnovers? 5? I lost count at some point.. Anyways without those TOs Saints lose by more than 1 touchdown easy. Manning and Co won't have that same problem especially in a neutral location. But on the other hand the Saints got shut down for the most part which I doubt the Colts will be able to do. So I think it will be a shootout but the Colts will win.

Saints will be destroyed through the air come Super Bowl Sunday. Manning and company had their stiffest test defensively yesterday. Colts win this one going away. 34-17 Final.

I thought the late hit where Favre was "picked up" wasn't one, but the late hit a few plays later where he was high lowed on his way back to the sideline on the interception should have been called. Guess that was the make up non-call.

They won't get away with that on Manning. The NFL gives Manning and Brady their own penalty flags to throw whenever they wish.

Damn right although I wouldn't use the word bounty we have to be politicaly correct. So I would say it something like this. The Saints Defensive game plan was to disrupt and hit Farve as much as possible without getting caught until it effects him in which it most certainly did. In fact it almost caused his death

If the pass was incomplete the FG would have been 56 yards, I am sure the kicker would have missed it, the stupid thing was the penalty after the timeout

YOU HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD, New orleans is going to take it to the colts and the colts are not a big phsical team, the colts are built for speed and finesse . during the year they played big teams and their defense had a hell of a time trying to handle passes thrown 15 yds down field especilly curl patterns turning out into sidelines. with the addition of a very good offensive team you have to take the over ez and leaning to new orleans

Brett is a Hall of Famer and one of the top 12 QB's in history....

...but 56 yards is not impossible in a dome off the carpet. His kickoffs were 7 yards deep. Plus, Brett could have run for probably 4 yards with a slide. It was a bone head play but not totally unexpected. You get greatness with Brett but you have to accept his lack of judgment late in games. Its a package deal.

I honestly think this was the NFL's way of saying you are no longer welcome Brett any other time in any other game if you fart on the QB after he releases the ball you get an automatic personal foul and a $25,000 fine in the mail I just don't understand how the NFL Referee's can be so blatantly corrupt and get away with it

  30. #30

it was a great game plan to come after Brett and hit him as hard and often as they could. As dirty as it would be, when you know the QB is the only one on the team that can beat you, and head hunt

Wow - somebody named a center --- in this all qb all the time
era. thank you from a former C/LB.

    Here's to the memory of

Mike Webster, Dermotti Dawson, Dwight Stevenson ,

the Jims (Otto, Ringo, Langer, Sweeney) and the great

Chuck Bednarik and Bulldog Turner, who played both center

and LB in their long careers.

Bednarik's feat of playing the entire 1960 championship

game BOTH ways should not be forgotten.

The funny thing is that the Vikings molested Romo a week earlier. But they didn't get to Brees, and instead Favre took the beating. It's become a league of blitzing and forcing turnovers. One turnover, these playoffs, is worth 6.26 pts. Go figure.
