    Default Brett Favre Appreciation Thread

In case that was his last game, I just want to say that this guy is a true warrior and an all-time great QB.

Yes, he fukked up on his final play and that was a shame, but other than that one play, he played a great game, and was his usual true warrior self, getting his a$$ kicked and bouncing up every time no matter what, like he did his whole career.

Guy had his BEST season at age 40 -- and he was already a h.o.f. QB -- how amazing is that? He was the true MVP this year, and was the key piece the Vikings needed to become great. If they don't cough it up 5 times in this game, they could have ended up champs.

    So here here.

Steve Mariucci said Brett is the best QB ever

Please stop blaming Brett for dumb pics, he is not from big city, he grew up in a village of 2000 people, on a farm

May need to do some bumping to keep this thread up there with the hater threads... Come on, appreciators, show some love for the guy -- he is one of a kind!

I like the player, just fed up with the traditional drama that surrounds him year in and year out. I guess the media is mostly to blame for spoon feeding it to us from all angles each season.

Great player though, you can't take his talent away from him. However he did make several silly errors the past couple seasons down the stretch.

I enjoyed watching this guy as much as I enjoyed watching Jordan during his NBA days. You don't have be a fan of his team, yet I watched just to see all the wacko things he might do. Sad way to go out for one of the top five QB to ever play this game.

altough ive been a detroit lion fan all my life and a true favre hater for many of those he deserves kudos for the effort he put out today if not for 29 losing a couple balls today the vikings move on to the big one which im sure they would win just like the saints will against the vanilla COLTS..never a fan of his only because of the color of uniform he wore .. he will be always remain a legend at QB..good luck brett no matter what your desicion is

    Uhh, Brett, here's to you....

You are a lying, manipulative, egomaniac, who disgraced your reputation with your smear campaign against the Packers and constant waffling about retirement acting as if you were humble when you really thought the world revolved around your decisions.

Go make more excuses like your injured bicep for your bad play in crucial games and give your "insider" Ed Werder another reach-around and rapidly tongue Greta Van Susteran's privates for putting your propaganda spin on everything.

Man, this argument is so tired. People always need villains.

Listen, there were no villains here. Does the guy waffle? Sure he does, he's indecisive, a lot of us are. So then the Packers say 'Okay, fukk him,' which is fine, I understand that as well, and they have a great young QB. Brett is then hurt that they said 'Thanks but no thanks' -- again, perfectly understandable, since he figures he's done great things for the organization and they no longer want him. So he moves on.

I mean I don't know what people want. Does he have an ego? Of course he does -- and this just in, all great athletes must have one.

All I know is he's always been extremely classy with the media, with fans, etc. Always very respectful, always stood up there like a man and answered questions. Always was straightforward -- This guy wore his heart on his sleeve more than any athlete I can ever remember, and who doesn't love that????

I enjoyed watching every game he played in this year. He's very fun/exciting to watch. He seemed like a little kid out there, and looked like he was having the time of his life every game. Some Qb's show no emotion, and it's good to see him out there, enjoying what he does best.

They had a little excerpt of him on ESPN maybe on Thursday night, it was hilarious. Showed him running around just slapping other players on the ass (not gay, but who knows) and I thought it was funny as hell. I hope he comes back for 1 more year, he turned a bunch of decent receivers into big name receivers. HELLUVA year #4.

This coming from a non viking fan, but a fan of lousy Detroit, and from Chicago.

    Tired? maybe. True? definitely.

I respect your opinion and I respect Favre's accomplishments on the field. I don't think he is a villain...I think he is as fake as they come and and do not like or respect him as a person.

the guy is just a winner, everyone playing next to him plays at a higher level. He devotes his life to the game. Thanks for the exciting season brett. I hope he is back for the second year of his contract, but i understand if he "goes out on top".

Guy is going out a loser as it should be. Tried to be a hero yesterday instead of letting his kicker win the game. Favre is a ME person instead of a team player. Glad the prick lost.

BTW, recall last week when he rubbed Dallas" nose in it with a cheap very late TD pass. It's called Karma.

I hope he comes back for one more season, but just hope it doesnt take an entire off season worth of drama for him to decide.

Well put. When haters think about that last pick ALSO dont forget how Childress mucked up the final minutes with his ultra conservative play-calling and the infamous 12 men in the huddle.

    Favre is a stud.

Good point, it cost Minny 5 crucial yards. But Favre could have easily gained that back on his final play by simply running to the open side. Instead, he throws across his body for an easy interception. He denied his team a legit shot at winning the game. It was the ultimate choke job.

    Oops, same old Brett

After getting hit hard, Brett Favre sits on the field for a few seconds to compose himself during the second quarter Sunday.
No. 4's interceptions help send Minnesota packing

By Bob McGinn of the Journal Sentinel

New Orleans — Joy reigns in Packerland. Brett Favre has struck out.

Unless his extraordinary career has other chapters to write, Favre won't be going to the Super Bowl wearing the purple and white No. 4 jersey of the Minnesota Vikings.

This man is by far the greatest QB to ever to assume the position in my eyes but most will not see this so I gave his performance yesterday an A+ for the simple fact that the Saints game plan was to submit as much physical pain on the man as humanly possible and he unbelievably overcame it every time to put his team in position to win the game. To all who thought his interception to end the game in regulation was typical Brett WRONG!!! how could you blame the guy for not wanting to run for field goal position knowing he had no protection from the referee's the entire game. Hell if he would of ran even if he would have made it you know damn well he was going to get leveled illegally just like 80% of his hits were but only one called child please!!! You see people the Saints saw what they could get away with and just progressed through the game and Brett knew this but could do nothing about it so how can you blame him? his life is more important than a stupid football game
Ref's are to blame for the Vikings loss for letting the Saints get away with attempted murder on poor Brett and making sure the Saints would get in field goal position on countless bogus calls & reveiws to put the books ahead there I said it but someone must stand up and tell the truth without sugar coating it!!!
Don't worry Brett I saw what really happened and you are still the GREATEST my man. I hope you come back next year to put your records even further out of reach just to spite your haters
