Arrow What if the Colts LOSE...

    What if...

I was born, raised, and still reside in Naptown, but I just can't help but to wonder how the city will feel if the Colts lose Sunday...

Personally, I see so much IRONY in the whole situation, as the Colts just might lose to the same team they let into the playoffs as a Christmas gift...

By the way, the Colts sure didn't give me a Christmas gift butchering that Jets game, as I simply took the "expensive" ML and still lost a DIME!

Well, that's the past, and I feel as though that Colts need to lose Sunday to teach them a lesson, as some opportunities only come ONCE N' A LIFETIME, or should I say ONCE N' almost 40 YEARS!

...13,870 days and counting since the 72' Dolphins (give or take some days)

    Life will go on.

The media will start to pile on the "Peyton is a choker" crap again. If you're from Indy, you know what I mean.

If the Jets win, I can't wait to see what kind of sweet line will be offered for them in the Super Bowl. Totally underrated team.

I know one thing if the Jets do win and the Saints win against the Vikings this will be one of the most easiest to cap Superbowls ever Saints will not match-up well at all against the Jets it will be an easy win for the Jets.which means if Jets win you can almost count on it the Vikings will win

Yeah, it'll just be the Peyton Manning is a 'choker' show again no matter how well he may play, but anyone who knows football knows Manning is a great QB so just another day. At this time of the season and on this stage, any of the 4 teams remaining can win or lose so any outcome is "Just the way the mop Flops". I'd almost rather lose here than in the Super Bowl, eh?

If the Colts lose, and I really hope they do, Jim Caldwell will look like the complete moron that he is for allowing the Jets into the playoffs.

Won't be any worse than when the Pats lost their perfect season at the Super Bowl. However, at least they played hard for the entire season.

It's so nice to be well rested with all of our players healthy and back to full speed. Did any one see the Colts D last week. Manning has to many option to beat this jets team.

    Go Colts

I know I'm repeating myself here, but it wasn't Caldwell's call. Polian was behind it.

In Polian's mind, by resting Peyton & co two extra weeks, he's saving "tread on the tires", so to speak. In his mind, it isn't just about 2009, but 3 and 5 years down the road. Every saved snap extends a career in his mind.

If the colts lose it wont be news. They have only won 1 playoff game that they showed heart in and that was that comeback against the PAts when they won the bowl. Peyton then lead his team past the Bears(my team) who were probably the shittiest team to make the superbowl in the whole decade. It would not surprise me one bit to see the colts lose. Manning is a great QB regardless but the amount of big games this guy has lost is real hard to fathom and surely those losses must take away from his hall of fame numbers. Great QB's of our time(MArino not included) never lost so many big games. Do you think Montana would ever have lost this game. Nobody would have even thought of the Jets winning this game if Montana was the QB.

I think it would be pretty funny to see the colts lose just because they let them in. Just going with my gut here though I bet they will pull it off. It should be a good game though.

Montana never had to carry the entire team like Manning has! In Peyton's younger days they didn't have much defense & couldn't slow down Tom Brady! Now they have a good defense but no running game! Speaking of Montana/49ers...this Colts D does remind me of the 80s 49ers! Always over shadowed but they stepped up big to make the difference! Speaking of your Bears (I'm a Bears fan too)...I'm surprised this game doesn't remind you of the Chicago/SF matchups from the 80s!
HOF QB vs a Ryan defense/running game! SF's defense always made the difference because Montana was gonna get his no matter who he played! Peyton MUST have this game for his legacy and he'll get it!

Don't see the Colts losing here cause that would be embarrassing. They have a decent run d that should be able to stop the Jets.

Colts run D ranks 24th in the league.

Last week the Colts allowed 87, but the Ravens got down at the half and had to go away from the run.

The Jets have the #1 rushing offense in the league. 169 yards last week. 171 the week before that.

The Colts have their work cut out for them.

Jets (Thomas Jones) got nearly all his yards after the scrubs came in Week 16...I know because TJ beat me in FFL (maybe 30 yds vs 7 Colts starters by late 3Q)! Buffalo ran for a ton in Week 17 vs the same scrubs! You throw out those 2 and the Colts run D is pretty decent! Stuffed Ray Rice twice and held down Chris Johnson too!

Ray Rice 13 carries 67 yards (5.2 yards per carry), 9 receptions 60 yards

Chris Johnson 27 Carries 113 yards (4.2 yards per carry), 6 receptions 28 yards

Ray Rice 20 carries 71 yards(3.6 yards per carry), 7 receptions 64 yards

Chris Johnson 9 Carries 34 yards (3.8 yards per carry), 2 receptions 9 yards

Ray Rice would have done more damage if the Colts didn't get up 17-3 at halftime last week and had to abandon the run. CJ had a fine game week 13, but week 5 was a blowout when the Titans were in their terrible slump to start the season, again needing to abandon the run trying to catch up. With averages ranging from 3.6 YPC to 5.2 YPC, I wouldn't say that the Colts stuffed any of these guys.

It might happen, fans will leave early and boo a little then the day will be done. Players will be able to start snorting and partying earlier because their season will be done.
