Gore was the 1st alternate behind Steven Jackson, who won't play because of injury.

Gore is a great player.
Niners are going to be a damn good team next season. Crabtree will have a year under his belt, Gore/Davis/Willis are at their peaks, plus the divisions isn't good.

Just heard an interview with him, he is excited as hell about it. I'm happy for him!

Lot of people unhappy with Pro Bowl this year, but it has been a laugher in the past, too. I am glad to see new faces and other talent. I like the new idea. I will enjoy watching guys who we normally wouldn't see. Good experience for them and good to mix things up. I'll enjoy watching football. It's liking any all star game with some nonsense.

I might watch it simply due to "NFL withdrawal", waiting around for the Super Bowl.
Plus, it will be interesting to see how they incorporate this new Pro Bowl format into the Super Bowl atmosphere.
I like the concept of combining the Super Bowl with the Pro Bowl, trying to stir the pot. We'll see.

I prefer it this way. Let the "lesser teams" shine a bit more. The Super Bowl teams get overexposed enough as it is.
I also enjoy it when Pro Bowl regulars "opt out" to let the next guy in. I know it waters down the talent pool, but the game itself is a joke. Pro Bowl honors are overrated anyway. Let the guys that actually "want to be there" participate and let the crusty vets accept the honor and opt out if they wish. It's more of a PR/Political posturing event anyway. But make the "opting out" Pro Bowlers attend and sign autographs, take pictures with the kids, etc. Keep the fans as a priority throughout the Pro Bowl more than any other NFL event.

If Al Gore can be given the Nobel peace prize,I have no problem with JJ Gold being named to the pro bowl.Maybe the guys who select pro bowl picks thought Frank Gore was Al Gore's son that gets picked up for driving 120MPH with weed all the time.

Just name the teams and do away with the game...
The players don't want to play and nobody watches...
