    Default Bungals/Jets

Is anyone taking the Bungals? Everywhere I look and everything I hear is all Jets. Bungals at home are still tough and under a field seems like the right side no matter what happened last week; throw that out, the Bungals wanted to lose so they didn't get the Ravens. Gotta believe the teasers will be heavy on the Jets like never before.

You make a valid point..Im sure leaning Bengals. Ive watched them play several games this year and last week looked like flop feast.

what have the bengals done lately though, with their not too impressive offense and the jets staunch D, i'm riding with the jets and their momentum. of course its not going to be another blow out but i think the jets are up to the task

the bungals have done next to nothing since the death of henry (3 of last 4 on road). i agree completely that the jets have looked good, but now the story changes. sanchez will need to play very well cause a million yards rushing will not happen saturday. he has a good game on the road in 20 degree weather then they win - he has never played in this environment. i just feel he will not do enough to win in this spot. if chad changes his name bungals roll.

Does this total look too low to anyone else? Jets scored that many last week by themselves mainly running the ball! I don't think bengals D shut down like the O, they were trying! I just think at least 40-43 points scored. Any thoughts

There were several key defensive starters on the bench for that game: Crocker, Geathers, Peko. Adding three of their best players into the box, forcing Sanchez to beat them is likely the strategy they'll use. Running the ball won't be the same as it was in week 17. The Jets will need a Herculean effort from their defense. Bet the under if you like the Jets.

rookie qb's dont win vs good def in the nfl and on the road...plus sanchez is pretty terrible when asked to throw it,so jets have good def and running game, but sanchez will be lucky to have 3 passes more than 10yds

First of all, anyone handicapping this game should ignore last week's game completely for handicapping purposes, so fact that Jets scored 37 themselves has no bearing here.

That said, I STILL like Jets here and do lean Over. Jets be the weakest AFC Playoff team, but they do have a great defense and they run the ball well, which sounds like the prototypical playoff team. Meanwhile, Bengals were indeed the Bungals down the stretch, losing some winnable games and barely getting by Kansas City to win division. I think Jets win this game with their ground game alone, and that Sanchez will be exposed when Jets get crushed NEXT week.

That will become more glaring next week, Jets can protect Sanchez this week by winning this game with their rushing attack and defense alone.

I won't be surprised to see 9 in the box, as bad as Sanchez is. If the Jets win, Sanchez will have to be solid, that's a lot to ask.

The real surprise was the Cincy offense, with everyone but Benson, couldn't do anything against the Jets D.

Sanchez is not a normal play-off rookie QB. He has got to be the worst play-off rookie QB ever to play. 5+ ints thrown this game.

    Solid post.

I'll add that Carson Palmer has a good record against Rex Ryan.

anyone knows in ny that also on Friday Craig Carton is walking the brooklyn bridge (again) in a spedo because he predicted the jets not to make the playoffs a few weeks back on his radio show (boomer and carton)

    wfan.com check it out....

also my point is he is all over the jets this week and that makes me jump even more on CINCY. Jets got a huge gift with the colts resting everyone and cincy. They shouldn't be here.

Also rex ryan said today that his team should be the Super Bowl Favorites. HE IS A JOKE

Again, for handicapping purposes, make believe last week's game never happened. The Bengals were obviously not trying. Yes, they had some regulars in on offense, but their play-calling was very vanilla, so as not to tip their hand for this week.

This line 2 or 2.5 because of what happened the past few weeks. The Bengals played at San Diego and at the Vikings 2 of the last few weeks (Jets would have lost both those games too), Chris Henry died, they have not been right. The line in this game if it were a few weeks ago would be close to 7. I am taking the home team under a field goal with the better QB. If Sanchez pulls this off, and he will have to win this game in single digit weather (maybe snow too) on the road then I will eat the loss. GL!

Everyone saying that Sanchez will be the reason the Jets lose this week is simply not grasping the fact that he will only throw about 15 passes.

Looking at his stats, the Jets are 5-0 when he attempts less than 20 passes. Although, two of those games were Cincy and Indy. Still, that is the formula for success. The more attempts, the worse the W/L record. Can the Jets D shut Cincy out?

Yes, the Jets defense is for real and the Cincinnati offense stumbled down the stretch. And I am not even considering the season finale. Bengals were struggling before that.

It's probably worth plugging the Jets into a bunch of teasers throughout the week. Maybe they don't pull the upset, but they keep it within a TD.

Its 58% Bengals, 42% Jets on SBR.
    Forget last game.
Last several games, Cincy "O has been poor, have covered something like 1 of last 6.
    Jets have been covering lately.
Jets have great "D". Jets have strong running game. Good combo for cold day.

I don't understand why the Bengals couldn't stop Brad Smith from running wild when taking the snap.

It's just a simple running play, why did they act like they've never seen it before. For that matter, I've never understood the Wildcat's success. It basically eliminates the chance of a pass, so the defense should all be gearing up for a rush. usually in a regular formation, they have to guess whether the play is a pass or rush. The wildcat should be really easy to stop. I just don't get it.
