doesn't matter much...snyder treats all his head coaches like crap anyways. redskins won't be going anywhere next year either

If Joe Gibbs can't turn this team around, neither can Shanahan. Look at Norv Turner, spit out of Washington, but doing well @ SD.

skins weren't too far from being a winning team this year, but what are they gonna do with malcontent Haynesworth?

I agree. Jim Zorn wasn't the problem. It's the patchwork of overpaid veteran players.

Shanahan will turn things around if that idiot Snyder will just get out of the way, let Shanahan clean house and figure out who are the players he wants. The turn around will take 2-3 years though.

If a high profile coach like Schottenheimer has trouble there, then I don't see Shanahan doing much better.

Skins are still trash...Until they get a new QB they will struggle. Not to mention their aging back field and receiver corp..Mike is in trouble..or at least for first 2 years or so..

Snyder is the real problem in Washington. Too bad he can't be fired, then fumigate the complex. He's the type of person who would confiscate all the toys at recess....not that he'd play with them, just so that YOU couldn't play with them. He's a loser, and in 2 years he'll probably pull the Al Davis 'fired with cause' BS.

Yes Snyder ruined Washington, not the coaches. I have no idea who QB is going to be but what they have now is ok and can win games. I doubt they can find someone better.

He has had his moments this year, you are correct. I guess when really sitting back and analyzing the situation, they definitely have bigger fish to fry other than Jason (QB).

he'll be okay his zone blocking scheme remember in denver anybody he put back there avg around 4+ yac... olandis gary, ron dayne, mike anderson, ruben droughns... his system can make damn near any back look like a pro bowler... might take a bit for the o-line to ''get it'' but when they do look out.

They gave Shanahan full control , executive vice president of football operations. With possibly no salary cap for 2010 and Snyders deep pockets it could be a real quick turn around. Their defence just needs to be on the field less and could be a top 5 unit. A completly different o-line will be their only challenge.

Skins start winning the day they start Colt Brennon(sp?) at QB...

Shanahan knows how to run an offense. Look at all the nobody running backs that flourished when he was in denver. Campbell will be gone, isn't his contract up?

Shannahan should try to trade Clinton Portis for Champ Bailey... again. lmao

hmm next year? I think they will be very good in the 2nd half of next season but probably not make the playoffs. A great fit though. Could even be a SB contender in 3 years.

This team needs to get better from the top down. They need to build through solid drafts by getting good talent evaluators in personnel spots. They try to build by overpaying for free agents. That's not how its done.

is a coach that important, $5 million/year seems too much.

Plus they are still paying Zorn.

I think it's a smokescreen that distracts from the real problems on the team. A $5 million/yr smokescreen.

Well, Shanahan couldn't do anything without Elway.

...maybe he'll get "ole blue eyes" to un-retire.

...man, I wish we had Snyder owning a team in the AFC West. I guess I should be glad we got the Raiders.
