Default Week 16 picks and thoughts

I'm just popping this one in ahead of the game:

    San Diego @ Tennessee
Two teams who stack up pretty similiarly in strength according to the numbers I use. All but impossible not to support the team with home advantage who have their possible playoff lives on the line, versus visitors with virtually zip to play for who'll be wishing they were at home eating Christmas dinner with their loved ones (in Rivers' case, that's himself).
    Titans -3 for 8 units

SD hasn't wrapped up 2nd seed yet. They have alot to play for! These teams hate each other & SD will fight hard & not rest anyone.

The profit is right. Never underestimate hate. It is a big motivator.

Exclamation Like the under 47, very physical game.

Chargers won there 23-17 two years ago, was a knock down game, fights.

Chargers need win for first round bye, have won 9 in a row. Ten barely alive.

Take the Bolts + 3 too!

Be careful on this pick, I see a lot of factors going against the Titans here. When comparing the opposing teams that the Titans/Chargers have beat as of recent, the Chargers have been much more impressive. Chargers, for instance, have won against NYG, Dallas (as visitors), the Eagles and last week beat a very passionate Bengals team. Contrast that with the Titans, who in their last 7 games or so have only beaten ONE .500+ team - the Cardinals who were without Warner in that particular game (that game was still a nail-biter btw). Titans are also banged up on D, which spells bad news against a solid offensive team.

I appreciate all the comments. I don't buy that San Diego have anything to play for. Sure, they haven't mathematically wrapped up second seed, but to all intents and purposes they have. There may be some 'hate' motivation, but the Titans also have a revenge scenario going on from playoff defeat.

Ultimately, I think the Titans are very well-equipped to handle a Chargers team whose running game is so bad that even with teams forced to respect the lights-out passing game it can only muster the league's worst yards-per-carry.

I definitely take the point that SD have beaten some decent team, albeit mostly in nail-biters and mostly at home.

Most other people just say Tennessee is going to win. Limey puts his points were his mouth is.
