Default NFL teams that i feel have packed in in for the season.

there are just some teams you can just tell that have just totaly packed it in for the season. i think we all could tell the jets packed it in, as soon as they signed Vinny.

green bay packers... they packed it in after key injuries.

new orleans... well, thats self explanatory really. you lose your home field advantage in every single game. as well as your home.

Philadelphia Eagles... the T.O. debocal as well as Mcnabb's injury and lack of reciever presence. lito sheppard is gone for the season. and lets not forget they have zero wins in there division.

St. Louis Rams.... You lose your coach and your quarterback. not to mention two of your coachs get into a fight during practice. that just about sums it all up about this teams focus.

Nick Saban went on record Sunday as using this season exclusively for next year. I believe the actual quote was something like 'I don't care what the score is from here on out.' So you can add Miami to that list.

I figured the Eagles packed it in as soon as they suspended TO. That was their best opition and they gave up on it. McNabb threw 40 times a game, and they sat their only weapon. Westbrook should be their weapon, but they cant load it right.

I missed the St. Lous coaches getting into a fight story....what happened?

I don't know that I'd say Green Bay has packed it in. I think they know they stink and have no hope this year, but they still seem to be trying. They're just lacking in talent. Houston is the team I don't get. They improved in each of the last two prior seasons and came out of the gate this season playing like a Division II college team.

john, the texans were doomed from the start really. so, i didn't include them in this list.

the other two teams you mentioned:

miami was mentioned by a poster earlier in this thread i noticed. and, i forgot to add them to my list earlier. but, as far as buffalo goes. well, i don't think they have packed it in just yet. they still have an outside chance to win that division although, it's not likely. i feel they might have a few good weeks of ATS covers left.

the rams running backs coach wilbert montgomery got into an altercation with offensive coordinator steve fairchild. some of the members of the team saw the fight, along with some of the media.

I would have said the Vikings, while Culpepper was still in there with 3 turnovers per game consistently. Brad Johnson has given that team a definite lift since Culpepper got injured.

How about the Lions? Yesterday wasn't a real inspiring performance.

The Rams front office packed it in when they put Martz at the helm. And then they left him there after his 193,045 coaching errors gave them opportunity to remove him! I mean they are beyond packed in, they are shipped for arrival well before Christmas. Oh man i just checked the tracking number and they have already been signed for...

Only Oakland is more packed and I guess I now know why they call Green Bay the Packers.

You are right. Why did everyone "industry" think that Mariucci was so wronged by SF, and that he was some wonderful coach? He is...was a NFL coaching atrocity. Detroit should win awards for being so good on paper and so bad on the field. Dick Jauron will save the day! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Mariucci wasn't anything special when he was
coaching in college. Then his overrated ass went
to SF where he had all the pieces to the puzzle
and did o.k i guess. T.O didn't like his punk ass.
Then he goes to Detroit and screws things up.
You're right on paper Detroit looks pretty good.
They have the players to be an above .500 team.
millen needs to go back to the booth he sucks.
Detroit the team that packed it in and has showed
no signs of really trying. Like the Jets,Packers, even
Texans will play a good game surprise folks,Lions
always play well like the Lions

    Speaking of TO...

Has he ever been wrong when he has called someone out?

    Mariucci -- sucker
    Garcia -- bushleague
    McNabb -- SuperB wackjob
    Eagles organization -- 2nd rate
    Reid -- confused

    I am missing anything?

He was wrong to criticize McNabb (at least publicly), whose play was suffering from injury, not lack of skill and/or decision making. He was wrong to criticize Greg Knapp in San Francisco, but yeah the other four you said he was pretty much right about, even though people don't want to hear it.

Perhaps wrong to criticize McNabb this year, but I am referring to the Super when it was blatantly obvious that McNabb was too tired to win a game they definitely had a chance to win. This was also a game that Owens was NOT supposed to play in due to injury, yet he kept the Eagles in the game almost single-handedly.

Well in last years super bowl,To me I never thought the eagles were going
to win,I thought it was the most lopsided 3pt victory in recent memory. Owens
speaks his mind and alot of people do not like that. And one thing alot of
people do not mention about T.O is that he sometimes is right. Like with
Jeff Garcia his severe lack of arm strength is bush league, and when he
mentioned that he is gay,we all knew that garcia was gay which is right.
I get the feeling that Mcnabb acts one way in front of the camera and
    another when theres no camera..

That is exactly what McNabb does. He deserves the beating that TO would have given him. I'm changing his name from Donovan to Lipservice.

has the ball thrown his way??? Why?? Just wasting talent.
Raiders are a team that i expect much much improvement
from next year. with a new coach, have been hearing
from someone i know that Mike Martz is the leading
candidate for the Raiders head coach position. hmmm?
