    49ers Do NOT PLan to Cut Aldon Smith

    It must be nice being a top-tier defensive lineman, if this was some peripheral player, he would have been cut in less time than it takes C.C. Sabathia to hit the buffet.


    However, RapSheet [Ian Rapoport] believes Smith will begin the year suspended, and potentially even in jail. Smith was already due to appear in court on April 29 on gun and DUI charges before his bizarre Sunday arrest for making a bomb threat at LAX. It's pretty safe to assume Smith won't be appearing in all 16 games this season.

    not true. Panthers owner jerry richardson passes up on good talent all the time bc he is scared of another Rae carruth situation.

    in fact the Panthers actually passed on Randy Moss the year they drafted Rae Carruth bc of character issues... and signed Rae Caruth who later was a murderer.

    I said it in the aldon smith bomb thread all you need is talent, they could care less about all the outside factors.

    3 open criminal cases and missed a third of the season last year yet they welcome him back with open arms.

    He's too good of a player to just let him walk away. If anything it gives them time to find a trade partner.
