I was watching the NBC SNF pregame, and I just heard an interview Bob Costas did of Hines Ward.

Ward took a shot at Roethlisberger and the team. Costas asked him about how the players in the locker room felt, and Ward basically phrased the answer in a certain way that said he (and some teammates, supposedly) question Roethlisberger's toughness.

Ward said he's played through stuff all the time when dinged up, and he didn't really want to concede that a concussion is any different than a strained hamstring or something.

Very, very surprising, and pretty damn stupid, too. Even if you feel your quarterback is a sissy or something (which is unfair, considering what the team has accomplished with Ben at QB), you don't tell that to the media. This is an interview that's going to get played on national TV.

I don't know about you, but I rather have Hines Ward on my team than to play against him. He is hard hitting and I would take the chance to knock off some heads too since the defense are the ones always tackling him and knocking him around.

He made a phone call to ESPN this morning to clarify. If this guy was just a punk and a dirty player he would b out the league by now. It wasn't taken out of context. He furiously backpedaled once he realized that he was getting torn apart for it.

He was too damn stupid to not say the stuff in the first place.

He ripped on Roethlisberger and the team, and it isn't debatable, or dependent on context.

Im not a steeler fan nor do i like ward--but i would like to have him on my team. I agree with him Big Ben is a Big Pussy--he is a drama queen--as you can see from last night the steelers play solid football and their success has very little to do with Rothlesberger. He plays on a team that has a solid system in place-run the ball, play physical tough football, and a defense that is second to none. I am tired of hearing how Rothlesberger has won 2 super bowls. Pitt won those rings because of great running games, and bone crushing defenses. They almost won last night with a 3rd team QB who never played in a game-and got zero snaps a practice all week. Pitt could win with Charlie Batch. They can't and won't win until Troy Pala returns and is healthy.

Can you not understand Ward feeling frustrated bout Ben not playing after practicing all week. Bout the players being left in the dark about the decision and his condition. Him feeling like the raven game was a "playoff" game and he now has to go out there with a guy who had thrown 1 NFL pass. Yes he realized he sounded really bad and took the time to clear it up.... The steelers have 0 chance without troy. 0.0% chance. They won't even make the playoffs without him never mind go any further, imo of course.
