Default Help Me Pick A Loser

In a losers pool at a local bar. $20 entry fee, winner take all. 50 players, down to 6 players now. Team you pick must lose the game outright. Can't use the same team twice. Here are the teams I have already used:

    Kansas City
    Tampa Bay
    Detroit
    Cleveland
    St. Louis
    Oakland
    San Francisco

Thinking of taking Miami this week at New England.

Help me pick this weeks loser.

Panthers. +14 at Saints this week. But you could prob take Miami this week since they will win next week vs Bucs and Panthers will still lose next week vs Falcons.

I'd take Washington. Atlanta at home, something to prove after losing a tough one to the Saints. Something scares me about Carolina at the Saints. It's the perfect storm for Carolina; what they typically do well could end up being what undoes the saints. The saints are a lot like the Colts in that if they can get up early they are a very tough team to pass on. If you can run it down there throats you can wear them down and give yourself a chance to win (ala Miami being up 24-3). Saints will probably win but I see NO WAY Atlanta loses, Washington is bad, bad.

I thought about Washington. Skins coming off a bye and Atlanta with a Monday night game...it worried me...but I will keep it in the mix. So we are down to:

    Miami
    Carolina
    Washington

    Anyone else got insight?

I'd lean towards Miami this week. Carolina next week. Washington the week after. Seattle the week after that.

Some good suggestions here. They way I look at it, I figure the Hooded Sweatshirt had 2 weeks to prepare for Miami, plus he probably is still pissed about the Wildcat blowing them up, New England at home is a plus as well. Haven't looked into the weather yet.

Can't go wrong with Washington. Im a Skins fan unfortunately and we blow. Our offensive line is a joke, mix that in with a QB who can't make quick decisions, and it won't end well. Falcons win this one easily.

the real question is can washington stay within 20 points of atlanta. .

Have you considered Tennessee. I like the 9ers chances of running away with this one. With Tenn giving up big games to maroney and mjd i see gore having a field day and the 9ers have been playing pretty stout against the run which could give chris johnson aka the titans a hard time.

I think their defense is too good to let it get out of hand. Only way I see this happening is if ATL can run a pick/fumble back off Campbell, which is very possible.

Id take washington as well, my next choice would be Tampa bay

Already used Tampa Bay (check out the first post for the rules). You can only use teams once. Tennessee...I don't know, I don't trust that game. I don't see as many advantages as I do with Miami. Seems like it is down to:

    Miami
    Washington

Unless someone comes up with better reasoning...good stuff here guys.

After looking at the schedule, I think Miami might be the best play here. Their next two games after NE are very winnable (TB and CAR), so you wouldn't use them then. Whereas the 'skins play Denver and Dallas. I don't think the 'Skins have much of a chance at all of winning any of those ones.

Miami is easy but I have big balls. I say take the Eagles that will make you look like a genius. I'm convinced the eagles are going down.

Much more important than winning money.

Thanks for the insight here guys. Having big balls is cool, but my strategy from the start has been pick the ones with the highest probability of getting you to the next week, and that has gotten me to this point. I understand that it will be tougher down the road.

Miami is my play today and thanks for the input everyone. If they lose I will be back next week to seek further advice from the board.

I agree with Miami, NE off bye, hungry, healthy, jelling, figured out how to beat the Wildcat 2nd game last yr, Miami lucky last week w/ 2 kickoff returns and one fumble return, got outgained by Jets.

OK, Miami made the cut. 2 players lost out as they were on Tampa. Also, found out that I have not used Tampa as a play yet. My mistake. Anyway, so here is the official list of teams that can not be played:

    Kansas City
    Detroit
    Cleveland
    St. Louis
    Oakland
    San Francisco
    Miami

On to next week. Need a loser. Will bump later if required.

Already used Oakland. You can't use the same team twice. Just read the first post for the rules. Not sure on next weeks games yet. Was thinking either Buffalo on the road at Tennessee or Washington against Denver. Tampa also a possibility.

Okay, thanks to all those who helped last week. I stayed with Miami and it paid off. 5 people left in the pool. Here are the teams that I have already used:

    Kansas City
    Tampa Bay
    Detroit
    Cleveland
    St. Louis
    Oakland
    San Francisco
    Miami

Help me pick this weeks' loser. My gut going into this week was Buffalo or Tampa Bay. If you are confused about how it works, read the first posting. Thanks guys...

Okay, Seattle on the road is worth a look. Any insight there? I see they are a pretty big dog.

    Anyone else?

    Thought you already used TB?

I like Seattle's chances to lose much more than the Bills. But if you can pick Tampa, that's the best pick.

Might be a good week to get a decent team out of the way, I'm thinking Cincy. Pitt plays them pretty well at home, might be worth looking at them. But you're probably right on with TB, as I doubt they hang with Miami.

  34. #34

Yeah, sorry guys, my fault, I copied and pasted from the first thread when I thought I had used Tampa. Tampa is still in the mix. Not using Cincy, I have them as a play tomorrow +7. So Seattle or Tampa Bay...

Well i gave you eagles last week. This weeks pick is even easier. The Bengals
