Default BREAKING NEWS Chiefs suspend johnson indefinitely

    Chiefs suspend Johnson indefinitely
Posted: October 27th, 2009 | NFL.com Staff | Tags: Kansas City Chiefs, Larry Johnson, Todd Haley
While Kansas City Chiefs coach Todd Haley is expected to address the recent comments by RB Larry Johnson during a news conference Tuesday, the team did release a statement saying it is continuing to investigate the situation.
In the meantime, Johnson it not being allowed to practice with the team or participate in team activities.
“The Kansas City Chiefs and the National Football League are continuing to investigate the alleged comments made by Larry Johnson,” the statement read. “Until that review is complete, the Chiefs have instructed Larry to refrain from practicing with the Chiefs or participating in other team activities. A decision regarding Larry’s status will be made once the investigation has concluded.”
Johnson released an apology of his own Tuesday through his representatives.
“First of all, I want to apologize to the fans of the Kansas City Chiefs and the rest of the NFL, Commissioner Goodell, the Chiefs organization, Coach Todd Haley, his staff, and my teammates for the words I used yesterday,” the statement read. ”I regret my actions. The words were used by me in frustration, and they were not appropriate.
“I did not intend to offend anyone, but that is no excuse for what I said. I also want to apologize to all the kids who view athletes as role models. I was not a good role model yesterday and hopefully I can become a better role model. We all make mistakes, and the challenge is to learn from them.
“I will do my best to learn from this one as I move toward becoming a better person, teammate, and member of the Kansas City Chiefs team and community.”

Thanks L. J. Mr Goodell and his family does need your money very bad. They was sort of scraping the bottom of the barell while in London this past week.
I can see the Cleveland and Washington bringing big bad L.J. on board.

They need to do away with Twitter for the pro players. They just cant handle it. Guys tweeting during halftime and during the game, guys throwing their coach under the bus, WRs brothers tweeting about the QB. Im sure im missing a few its crazy. The days of throwing a slur at the gays and overweight are almost over.... well not for the overweight They're still fair game.

Sanchez eating a hot dog on the sidelines this week too. Like these guys don't have enough to do during the game.

not really breaking news...LJ was throwing a fit (on twitter) during halftime on Sunday. I really don't understand how this makes sense. Look at what Brandon Marshall did during training camp and Josh McDaniel is his best friend now? They were hugging it up after the Dallas/NE games?

It just puts shit in perspective. Its okay if you act like a spoiled crybaby as long as we win. But if you're 1-6...give your heart to this franchise, be the only worthwhile player on KC since Priest Holmes....you're kicked off the team.

The guy shouldnt be in the NFL anymore. He should pay the Chiefs for keeping him there otherwise he is going to end up in jail for killing someone when he is drunk and stoned.

He wasn't doing much anyway. He has been a trouble maker. I would release him if I was KC.

Ditto.....I have this scum on my team too. I have 1 win so far this year. Already trading for next years draft picks.

Atleast he'll save himself from getting beatup, running the ball for a losing team with a terrible O-line, rest up, get traded to a contender, and flip your image ala Randy Moss

Everyone in KC wants to see LJ gone. He never should have got the most recent contract. The offensive line is shit, but no one sees LJ doing better even with a better line.

Slippery slope here. Next it will be no making fun of guys and farm animals. Then it will be no slurring pedophiles. As i always say, idiocracy is closer than you think.

In addition to the gay slur, LJ offered the following on Twitter, degrading his coach:

“my father got more creditentials than most of these pro coaches. … google my father!!!!!!!”“My father played for the coach from “rememeber the titans”. Our coach played golf. My father played for redskins briefley. Our coach. Nuthn”“think bout a clever diss then that wit ur [expletive] pic. Christopher street boy. Is what us east coast cats call u.”

I also heard he made some comment regarding the Chiefs/NFLs(?) inability to force him to shut up, but I haven't seen confirmation of that. It's not just the gay slur thing, but a general attitude problem. This whole thing actually gives the Chiefs a great excuse to get out of his contract.
