Default tom brady greatest qb of all time argument

i was watching something on nfl talking about greatest qb of all time

or sorry greatest clutch qb. and they gave brady number three

    and joe montana number one

i think john elway got number two

    and it seems like bull

brady won three superbowls with the pats

and didn't have a great reciever on the team for a while

he lost it with moss and moss missing that pass

and i think that's just a story of you can take a girl from the ghetto but you can't take the ghetto from the girl

obviously peyton manning wasn't on the list cause he's been known for doing well all year being basically the biggest name in football at least for quarterbacks

then messing up when it comes down to it in clutch

obviously he shook that with a superbowl but still

with that name behind him he didn't make the list

Brady is a dandy, but he has/had the benefit of a great coaching mind and cut-throat mentality (which I like) in Billy B. I think quite a few QB's would have been just as successful as Brady in the same situation including Matt Cassell even. I can't argue though. I like Brady and it is easy to say what if and speculate on this topic. Either way, he is a dandy QB no doubt.

well i'm not sure if you can quite put him in a class with them. remember him after not playing a game all year comes in for the superbowl against the rams as a huge underdog

was completely unknown to the world and even the football world and smoked the rams

if that's not cluth i don't know what to say

without any practice in the league

walking into a game against a rams team that was a 15.5 favorite in that game

    in a superbowl

also just gonna say we can't overrate his performance there too much

obviously i like how that wasn't a fluke. like football seems to be a sport where that doesn't happen much

shuab or whatever his name is used to play great backup qb and i never thought he'd stay steady as a starter but he has

same with brady having that one big game i didn't think that meant too much cause in so many others things i've observed that doesn't happen

so i guess the guys are right when they say that in this league you really are what you are

so i didn't expect brady to go on and continue to be great. like i wasn't even sure if he'd start

but just one more thing. the odds makers and public opinon don't always translate to the game in hand

the rams defense i feel was kind of un exposed

like after that year what happened to them?

so ya i didn't jump on the shuab or brady bandwagon

but right now i'll point out a couple things i'm watching

right now the denver broncos as a team are amazing

everyone is doing what they need to do

they're getting great plays guys coming up big

    but... now he's the but

i don't think they'll have this all season

and right now if i wanna play a hunch it's that with troy in the game pitsburg should have enough to beat minny this week

well basically elway and montana being ahead of him

elway wasn't the most clutch qb

he in fact didn't get it done in the clutch lots

meanwhile a guy like brady walks in in the superbowl and smokes the rams

pulling a guy up outta nowhere and having him dismantle a heavily favored rams team in the superbowl is being clutch

not like i wanna take away from what he's done sense that day

but it's one thing to come back in a game

and it's another to come out of nowhere and dismantle the rams

and not only was he clutch he was good

like talk about pulling through for a team in the clutch

it's not like they were favorites behind in a game

they were considered underdogs with their starting qb

    he gets injured

    they pull in brady

how clutch can you expect him to be?

    he destroyed the rams

Quite possibly the most insipid, senseless, idiotic comment I have ever read ANYWHERE about ANYTHING. How can anyone in their right mind say that Elway wasn't clutch? I guess Reggie Jackson and Magic Johnson weren't clutch either.

If you are referring to Elway's Super Bowl losses, I dare say that had Brady or ANYONE ELSE been the QB of those mediocre teams with less than mediocre defenses they would have been .500 teams at best.

John Elway is the greatest football player, and certainly the greatest QB, ever to play the game. PERIOD.

As for Brady, he's not even in the top 2 QBs playing today (P. Manning and Brees).

like i'm sure everyone has their picks for clutch and to be honest i don't know that much about football

but you call a guy clutch when you call his number in a key time in a game and he makes the big play

like last play of the game you whip a ball up and a reciever makes a huge play

the qb might say that guy played well in the clutch

i didn't agree with elway i wouldn't be saying so much

or sorry if i did agree that he was a great clutch player

they called bradys number in a much bigger way because of an injury to drew bledso

and he really tore them up

and sense that momment has tore up everyone he's played basically

he didn't come out the gates strong this season

and that was well deserved and smart

it's obviously stupid to do that

when you're that big of a player you better be seeing the big picture and not putting it all on one game

if he doesn't ease in with his knee he won't be a great player anymore

The difference between 1 and 3 isn't that great. A clear case could be made for all three of them, and probably more, to be number 1 on such a list.

Taking nothing away from Brady, because I do think he's great, but what about the AFC Championship game vs the Colts three years ago when he threw the interception on what would have been the game winning TD drive, after failing to notice Reche Caldwell standing uncovered split wide right?

By your logic, Tom Matte is the greatest clutch QB of all time. If you don't know who Tom Matte was, google it.

Brady isn't close to being the best QB of all time stats wise. When his career is over he will be up there but I still think Favre, Marino will have better numbers and Peyton Manning will be at the top of the list over all of them.

Brady is right up there, but Peyton will go down as the best QB of all time and i am fairly confident in that.

this where it gets messy. Brady one 3 superbowls nah the pats won 3 superbowls with the help of a cheating coach Now what if Brady was on a loser team say like this years st. louis rams and had the same line up for all those past years no one would be talking about him. Its the same situation as joe montana and dan marino. Joe Montana has superbowl rings but Marino has a better stat record therefore Montanas name gets mentioned before Marino.
