After a touchdown it's called an Extra Point, not a Field Goal. The ball is placed at the 2 yard line in pro football.

I thought that it was snapped 10 yards away wich would be a total of 12 yards

You asked which yardline the ball is placed at after a TD for the Extra Point. It's the 2 yard line.

It is placed at the two-yard line. It's equivalent in distance to a 19-yard field goal try (2 yard line + 10 yards to back of endzone + 7 yards for how far back the kicker stands from the line of scrimmage), if that's what you're digesting.

Ball placed at the 2 and kicked from the 9.
