    Default Mnf writeup

The Broncos have only given up 43 points in 5 games thusfar this year. They have the best defense in the NFL IMO and I think it's unarguable to say they aren't a top 3 defense.

The biggest problem with the Chargers this year is the lack of balance on offense due to their horrible rushing offense. They are ranked dead last in the NFL in rushing offense with only 215 rushing yards in 4 games. Why would this rushing struggle not continue considering that they are going against the 4th best rushing defense in the NFL in the Broncos?

SD has the 3rd worst rushing defense in the NFL. Now they lose their best defensive player in nose tacke Jamal Williams. Denver is the 6th best rushing team thusfar. SD couldn't stop the run with him and they definitely won't be able to stop it without him. Denver will run the ball effectively in this game no doubt.

Ok so SD has the 3rd best passing offense in the NFL. This IMO is the only way that SD has a chance of winning this game, just going out and flinging it 35+ times but I can't see this being too effective with a lack of rushing offense and Champ Bailey/Brian Dawkins in the secondary.

Think about SD's two wins. They beat the horrible Raiders by 4 points and they beat the Dolphins @ home in a game where Pennington got hurt in the 3rd quarter. Henne was not prepared at all for this game and it showed. The Dolphins had 5 false starts as soon as Henne came in because he didn't know the snap counts and he threw a INT for touchdown that iced the game. Henne ended the game 10/19 90 yards 0 TD's 1 INT.

Denver runs the ball better, defends the pass better, defends the run better and is less penalized. The only advantage I see is SD's passing offense, and even then that advantage is minimal. Kyle Orton actually has better TD to INT ratio, completion rate, and a higher QB rating than Rivers.

Broncos are going to keep playing with a chip on thier shoulder and it will show. Brandon Marshall and his coach are finally getting along. Broncos will roll in this game.

Rivers has been sacked 10 times already in 4 games. Expect more of the same going against the Broncos who have been getting pressure on the QB every game thusfar. Elvis Dumervil has been playing possessed leading the league in sacks with 8 already.

Chargers LB Stephen Cooper is nursing an injury and Antonio Cromartie has played horrificly all year long. He was at one point their lone bright spot in the secondary.

Shawne Merriman? Ever since he had to lay off the 'Roids he hasn't been the same. He has 3 solo tackles and 0 sacks.

Ladanian Tomlinson? He hasn't had a 100 yard game in almost a year (Oct 28 2008). He has two hundred yard games in the last 2 years and they were both vs horrible teams at the time, Oakland and N.O.

So maybe you Charger backers are thinking that Gates is going to have a big game. Think again, the Broncos have faced some of the best tight ends in the NFL this year and shut them down.

    Zach Miller- 2 cathes 17 yards 0 td's
    Kellen Winslow- 0 catches 0 yards 0 td's
    Jason Witten- 4 catches 31 yards 0 td's
    Ben Watson/Dallas Baker- Combined 2 catches 13 yards 0 td's
    Daniel Coats- 1 catch 16 yards 0 td's

The line opened at Denver +4 and with the public almost split 50/50 on this game the line has dropped to Denver +3. You have to love that kind of movement for Denver backers.

Look for Tony Scheffler to have a solid game. SD is one of the worst teams if not the worst in the NFL at defending tight ends.

Broncos keep pressure on Rivers and sack him several times and cause fumbles

They haven't given up a single point in the 3rd quarter so far this whole season.

They have only given up 7 points total so far this season in the 2nd half.
Denver holds San Diego to 3 points in the 2nd half today.
