Chargers in a must win 5th game of season!!!!!!!!
San Diego will welcome Denver on Monday night. They are looking for the challenge knowing it can ill-afford to drop deeper in its current hole. The Broncos led the AFC West at 5-0, with the Chargers trailing at 2-2.
Remeber last year when the Broncos collapsed after having the division all wrapped up? Chargers won the games they had to win. This year however the game they need to win is on the 5th game of their season. I expect Chargers to put the Broncos back down to earth. They have played beyond their means and should be put back into reality after Monday nights game.
The Chargers will take this game and put it all together on MONDAY NIGHT big stage. Did you know it has been so long since the CHARGERS scored on their first drive of the game. Watch tomorrow that changes. If you can get a prop they will score on their first drive TAKE IT!
That may just set the tone for the whole game, if they do score on their first possesion.
LaDainian Tomlinson is healthy, and I expect him to have a big night.
Sproles is fresh off the bye look for these two backs to light it up.
Shawne Merriman has been practising and I expect him to get a sack in order to display his lights out act on the big stage. Which will get the crowd into the game more than they already will be.
--CB Antonio Cromartie didn't win over any friends when he ripped the coaches for employing a zone defense in Pittsburgh, a scheme that had Cromartie playing soft and getting picked on with regularity. Cromartie could see his playing time reduced.
Antoine Cason maybe the KEY factor for the Chargers secondary. Antonio Cromartie, appears to being replaced. Cason leads the Chargers with two interceptions.
Bottom line Chargers are in a must win already. I believe you will see the team we have thought we were going to see when the season started.
Take the Chargers -3.5

So after playing like crap on the "big stage" twice already they're suddenly going to get it together tonight? I don't see it. This write up is full of jargon over what you "expect" to happen because it is a "must win" game. These are absolutely meaningless. Your rationale for them scoring on their first drive is because they haven't done it in forever? Brilliant.
If the Chargers manage to win/cover it won't be because of anything written here, because you're not providing any information based on facts about the game or the teams.
If I were to use your reasoning I'd say the Broncos have "something to prove" because despite being 5-0 "nobody believes in them" based on the current spread. But that too would be talking-head gibberish.

Again, you must think its the 2007 Chargers.
Take a look at the numbers and you may be surprised...
Tomlinson 20 carries/70 yards 3.5 AVG 1 TD
Sproles 37carries/90 yards 2.4 AVG 1 TD
Moreno 81carries/337 yards 4.2 AVG 1 TD
Buckhalter 37 carries/267 yards 7.2 AVG 1 TD
So both Moreno AND Buckhalter have had more yards and have run for a higher average than both Tomlinson AND Sproles.
Rivers: 90.6 rating 1245 yards 6 TD 3 INT, 35-17 career 67% wins
Orton: 97.4 rating 1236 yards 7 TD 1 INT, 26-12 career 68% wins
So Orton has a higher rating, more TD's and fewer INTs than Rivers. AND he has a higher (slightly) career winning percentage.
Combine that with Denver's advantage both on O and D line, two players called Brandon Marshall and Eddie Royal and I ask you again, who has the better players? In fact, the only place SD has a CLEAR advantage this year might be tight end.
As for coach, one is 5-0...one is 2-2. Nuff Said.
Again, its not the 2007 Chargers...its 2009 folks!

All I know is Denvers defense is THE MOST DISCIPLINED DEFENSE IN THE NFL. Every one guess what, Kyle Orton is on a new team with a new coach and guess what? He's pretty ****in good! I think San Diego's problem is Norv Turner, GUY IS A ****IN PROVEN LOSER AND THE TEAMS RECORD HAS DETERIORATED EVERY YEAR SINCE HES BEEN THERE! San Diego statistically is the wirst rushing team in the NFL, look it up. They are a top 3 passing attack but Denver a top 5 passing defense but with Dawkins and Bailey and the discipline of that defense I think they can over come the chargers passing attack. Denver has a great offensive line and defensive line, I look for Dumerville to be in Rivers' grill all night. Truth is San Diego is just not impressive to me this year, if Pennington doesn't go down I think the Chargers are 1-3 right now. I think whoever wins this game it bill be by a field goal, maybe 4. I mean SD's only played four games and still have a bottom 5 rushing defense, SD has had 8 more plays rushed against them and have give up an additional 200+ yds...
