Football Winners - turning 25,000 into 100,000
In three months! 25,000$ is not my entire bankroll but a part of it. If you don't know who I am, my name is Josh Hamilton. Ive been posting at the rx and eog for a couple weeks, and came across this forum today. At eog, people have been very supportive of my quest, at the rx many haven't. People get on your ass when you lose a game, and say nothing when you win. Anyways, if you want to read my story it is in those forums, and on my blog (which im not sure if I can post) so I won't. It is a free blog, so someone let me know if I can post it so people can track my selections easier. Basically my story is I have built a 8,000$ bankroll into 136,000$ in six years. I did this through strict money management (75% of my wagers being 1/2% of bankroll, and 25% of my wagers being 3-5% of my bankroll). I have doubled my bankroll four times, and doubled my unit size 4 times (because of the double of my bankroll).
This is not my story, but what I will be doing/posting until january.
As i've said before I wager on sports as my only source of income. Meaning, this is more than something I am "trying" .. this is something I must do, to live.
I am very confident in my sports investing knowledge and the more I can make in the football season, the less I have to worry about picking constant winners through sporting seasons.
I typically wager between 1* and 10*, between 100$ and 1000$ per selection, and try and win all year long. This year, and hopefully more to come i'll be trying to get most of my money out of the football seasons; as they are both in the top three most profitable sports for investing, college basketball being the other.
For the remainder of each season and playoffs I will cut my wagers to two to five selections, per sport. My minimum wager will be 1,000$ and my maximum wager will be 3,000$; with a possible wager of 4-5 thousand, once or twice.
I will be setting aside 25,000$, as my 'bankroll'.
*This is my job, and I put as much work into my job as I do anything else in life. If you watch, we should be up 25,000$ within a month. I advise to follow my selections, but with an amount of money more comfortable to you. I know there will be some bashing, but it will not bother me.*
All of my wagers, both NCAAF + NFL, will be posted in this thread, all season. It will also be posted in the NFL forum.
Enjoy, this should be a fun journey;
Josh Hamilton

75% of my wagers are 1% or 2% with 24% of my wagers 3 to 5%, and with a RARE as in once a year 6-10% wager.
The way I did it was this. I started with 8,000$ and so my unit was 1% of that, being 80$. So with a 3,000$ bankroll, I reccomend a wager of 30$ minimum to 150$ maximum. This seems small, but you dont understand how much easier it is to make money this way over the long run. You never have more than 5% of your bankroll on a wager, and so it takes alot to go broke. Once you have doubled your bankroll to 6,000$ then double your unit size. It will still be 1% to 5%, but now that will be 60$ to 300$.
Sorry, I do not post my unit size. I post the amount I am wagering. If you divide how much my wager is by 125,000$ however, you can find out how much I am wagering on a game. If you are following my picks, a 3000$ wager for me would be 2.4% (3,000/125,000), so in your case 72$ .. 2.4 times 30.
Hope this helps.

EDv, I am 3-1 in baseball playoffs.
I do bet baseball, but it is my worst sport. Though I do profit, just not as much as football season or basketball season.

If your max bankroll is 300$ then you have two options. If you are just ****ing around, and you don't care about losing this money and you are just betting to pass time or to try and make a little bit of money for a tv or something like that, then sure have 100$ bets .. it doesn't matter if you lose anyways.
If you are taking this seriously, and want that 300$ to be thousands within the next few years, then realistically you should be betting 1% and 2% of your bankroll on 75% of games and 3-5% on the other 25% of your games.
In your case, your wagers should be between 3$ and 15$. This seems stupid, but trust me, if you stick to it sooner than you think you will be making wagers the size of your current bankroll. Patience is key bud.
My blog also has today, as well as everydays wagers posted. No other bullshit in the threads. Not sure if I can post it, noone has messaged me saying if it is alright. Maybe through PM? Not sure. GL

Monday October 12th:
2,100$ - New York Jets/Miami under 36 -105 (wish i got 37)
1,800$ - Miami Dolphins +125
I handicapped this game as a 17-13 Miami win.
Note: Jets CB Donald Strickland (ankle) .. OUT
Jets CB Lito Sheppard (quadricep) .. DOUBTFUL
Jets WR Jerricho Cotchery (hamstring) .. QUESTIONABLE
Cotchery is Jets #1 receiver, with 23 of Jets 63 catches and praticed with an injured hamstring practiced with the team Thursday, but sat out Friday and Saturday.
Joey Porter, of Miami, who sat out last week in the win vs. the bills practiced all week and is listed as questionable for this game.
I do expect Cotchery and Porter to both play this game, but it looks as though Porter is recovering from his injury while Cotchery is at the beginning stages, and if he does play I expect less looks his way. Especially with newly aquired Braylon Edwards, though I do not expect him and rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez to be insync right from the get-go. They looked fine together in practice, but it is a much different situation once gametime comes; especially in a hostile environment on MNF, like at division rivals Miami.
I expect a heavy run game from Miami, but I do also expect the Jets to produce a heavier run game than past weeks. These teams know that this will be a grind 'em out game all day, and this should come down to the end, where I expect Miami to edge out the visiting Jets.
Miami will also be getting back LB Akin Ayodele (back) and DE Phillip Merling (ankle) this week, while S Kerry Rhodes (knee), T Damien Woody (foot) are both listed as questionable for the Jets, and both had limited practiced this week.
If either selection wins I profit on the night, but I expect and hope that both win.

Welcome here Josh, good luck with your picks. Always look forward to reading different angles on games from the experienced bettors. Do you typically place your wagers early after the lines are released or later in the week after moves have taken place? Find it interesting to see different philosophies on best time to bet on games.

Just curious!
