Default I've never seen spreads like this in the NFL before

In the past, you would see a line like -13 or -14 in the NFL 3 or 4 times a year. Now there are 3-4 of these every week.

The bad teams in the league are BAD. The sad thing is, they aren't even covering these double digit spreads. What has happened to some of these teams in the NFL?

You have a team in the Jaguars who just got their butts handed to them 41-0...and they are a 10 point favorite!?!?

So is just a fluke, or a change in the way things are now?

I've never been a fan of playing big spreads...but that may change soon. Teasing these bad teams' opponents is looking better and better

Yeah, I don't know when to bet with the Jags or against em. I had them to cover today, and they got destroyed

The double digit dog losses today astounded me. I don't normally play any double digit spread, but I am in this ESPN pick'em league and I think the gambler in me shows through because I always take those dogs with the points. Getting absolutely destroyed in my pick'em league.

The NFL is turning into College Football, there are very good teams and very bad teams. You will see a team *cough* Rams *cough* go 0-16 and some teams go 2-14, 3-13, etc.

I played the Eagles today giving up 15.. and they made me sweat it out, but they covered. I hate playing those kinda spreads.. god knows even shitty teams pull out a win every now and then.

The NFL is seemingly aligning with the NBA as a Superb sport going downhill. Anyone want to share reasons why I am right or wrong in that statement?

It is crazy the difference in some of these teams I guess the rookies coming in aren't giving the bad teams the jumpstart they need

I can tell you exactly why... but none of you would like my animal theory.... (which is wholly correct, btw)

Are you stating this simply on the disparity of good and bad teams?

No Sir. My thinking is more relative to living and learning from past experiences.

The NBA is by far my favorite sport next to the NFL and i agree with you in most senses. Like the fact that its illegal to play defense in the NBA these days. Ala the hip check and arm checks and even touching you outside the key is a foul. This is what turned nash from a good player to a great player. Allow someone to run free through the key cause you cant touch him and see what happens. Not to mention that every player that attempts to play D is labeled a dirt player, but can you really blame stern? The nba after all is a business to entertain and hes there to impliment excitement not the integrity of the game. High scoring puts fans in the stands. But i wudnt say its on a total downfall. Now the mlb in this steroid era is another thing.

It's a short term cycle, just like flipping a coin. It happens in all sports!
Because it's the nfl it is magnified more. Hang in there, this disease will be out of here shortly.

The Colts have their bye then they travel to St. Louis! The line has to be atleast 20 for that one? Without looking I think the Rams have got hammered by 20+ in every loss except Washington! I've never seen so many scrub teams in my life in the NFL? That Buffalo-Cleveland game was the worst football I've EVER SEEN and I'm in my 40s! I took a flyer on Cleveland ML which was the only reason I watched that pile of shit! The WINNING QB lit it up for 2 of 17 for 23 yds with a INT...lol! These people are crazy that spend hard earned $$ to watch that nonsense? My buddy still has season tickets for the Chiefs who've dropped 28 of their last 30 I think? They lost to JaMarcus Russell for Christ's sake???

    Agree!

"Parity" it not here anymore, some teams screwed up salary cap management and there are 6-7 teams that are a wreck.

    this is nothing..

i guess you all don't remember from about 92-95 during the SF run with Young and Rice when SF would be favored at home by 18-24 pts, no joke..

i can swear i recall having a SF -24 and over 52.5 for big and SF would be up like 44-0 at the half.. they were that good and it was so fun watching Young to Rice.. they made it look so easy.. no D could stop that duo..

    good ole days..

there are no real dominant teams this year... its weird

lots of super pukey sucky horrible teams but no DOMINANT type teams to balance it out....

I don't think we'll have more than 1 team win more than 13 games this year
