UFL Play of the Year
over 40
the game itself is designed for points to be scored. theres no intentional grounding, limits on blitzing, the clock stops on first downs late in the halves, even overtime is a 1 posession per team deal.
plus, this is a shit league that has to resort to gimmicks to get people to watch. think they want a 17-13 game? no way
both teams near or break 30 tonight.

Have you found a link that details ALL the rule differences? I have found several sites that mention a few things each but nothing comprehensive and even the league website doesn't seem to have a rules page that I can find.
I would agree that the game is designed to be higher scoring with no intentional grounding, dif clock rules and 1 foot in bounds for a reception. But with no preseason and many of these players being out of football for a while, it could be a sloppy, penalty filled game much like many early preseason games so that scares me away from the total. On the other hand these totals look really low. I think the books remember the XFL experience where unders cashed big time. Some games had totals in the high 20s by the end as I recall.
I'll be watching this out of curiosity though and I'll be rooting for ya.

I heard about the intentional grounding but nothing about blitzing. Although the first does automatically limit the second.
Its really hard to find info on the official rules. Part of the problem is that they allowed fans (all 2 dozen of 'em lol) to have input on the competition group so the net is littered with proposed rules but nothing to say what did and did not make it into the official rulebook. For instance there are a number of blogs talking about field goals over 50 yards being worth 4 points but I don't know if that's an official rule or just something a fan dreamed up,

Good call man. Game has not been nearly as sloppy as I'd imagined. The total on Saturday is even lower. 38.5 last I looked.

yup, 30-17 and thats with some real long time consuming drives and no long plays. if anything, i think this was a lowscoring game for this league. i'm gonna hit that o38.5 for sure. thanks bro

In the CFL you occasionally get a team on 5 days rest and fading them is a good play more times than not. Football is a tough sport...even in the UFL.

i am considering the over again. both of these teams won last week and threw up points. the total might be an adjustment based on that alone and not so much the fact they still are setting the totals too low.

Lets paper test the crap out of somethign that works i.e. totals over or under whcih ever.
Have everyfriend and family memeber that we can find watch the games and and post spots about how exciting it is all over the internet.
Text numbers that you dont know.
then when they come back next year when they come back with more teams = more games then we can beat the hell out of the boks for at least half the season.
Well... maybe its a 1 year thing trying to cash on some advertising or maybe some people trying to move money via sports on a major level to avoid some taxes.hmmmmm...

what killed us was the fist half (16 points, 3 fgs) and that lv didnt score until they got a safety with about 2 min left to go in the 3rd.
