Betting a league like this has nothing to do with being a degenerate. There is often value to be found in smaller markets.

People made a killing on unders in the XFL when it existed because the market took time to adjust. If you find value like that, why not play it? Money is money even if the limits are low.

Las Vegas is -7 at home to California. Thats a big line for two teams that no one has ever seen play. As far as I can see there was no preseason and home field advantage should be negligible considering how little publicity this has received. The 7 point spread is likely because Las Vegas has few more former NFLers. Tim Rattay and JP Losman for instance. Jim Fassel is the head coach. Dennis Green is coaching California.

Correction: Looking into it further at least two teams played a scrimmage a couple weeks ago. Not a real preseason but something anyway.
