    Default Patriots at Jets

Patriots opens as a -6.5 favorite. They could't cover against the bills, so the line dropped to -5.5/5

Today the line dropped even further to -4 with 67% on the Patriots. No doubt this line will attract a lot of public action. It looks like a way to obvious pick to me.

    What do you guys think?

I dont trust the Patriots anymore..

Just lay your money on the Saints Sunday. Better team going against a team without there starting QB in Mcnabb.

    Default Pats

Obvious to me as well the Pats should win by at least two touchdowns I think!!! Welker and Moss are going to light it up all year. I don't think I need to mention Brady is the real deal and will get better and more consistent each game.

    Is Mcnabb surely out?

I think the JETS cover. NE Defense was all over the place too many new people. Jets look prepared for battle. Bills covered... Jets do the same

I see. Just dont like the matchup between Saints D-line and Eagles O-line. I know the Saints are stronger than last year but it's still not a matchup that favoures the Saints.

This line-movement tells me the same.
Line down to -3.5 at some places!!

I like the Jets. Jets defense looked very good Sunday and shutout a good offense on the road last week(Houston scored on defense). New England has one less day to recover and prepare for a Ryan coached defense. I think New England is a false favorite here.

The line is set at 3 and 3.5, I got it at 3.5 and I see the Jets taking this SU. I'll definitely be playing this one on the ml as well as a nice value bet. Jets will be pumped up for this bad boy!

Houston's offense sucks. You can't judge the Jets based upon the Houston game.

Houstons offense was ranked #3 in the NFL in total offense last season. They were ranked #4 in the NFL in passing offense. I dont think their offense sucks. The last time Brady played against a Ryan coached defense in Baltimore he was 18 for 38 (47%) and was sacked three times and threw an interception. New England rushed for 90 yards total. New England won (27-24) with 44 seconds left in game on 8 yard TD pass.

I've lived in Houston for over 20 years and have followed the Texans from the day they were created. I don't care what they did last year, I'm talking about this year. The offensive line is weak and Matt Schaub is a 3rd string quarterback.

They won't win 7 games this year.

    It ain't so

Most people I know who have followed them from Day 1 have jumped off the bandwagon and given up on the season (although that is typical for Houston sports fans).

Schaub had the 7th best QB rating in the NFL last season. These are the top 7 top rated QB's last year

    1. Rivers
    2. Pennington
    3. Warner
    4. Brees
    5. P. Manning
    6. Rodgers
    7. Schaub

I THINK ILL LISTEN to the guy that sounds like he knows his team over some bs stats from last year! wow in the 6 gms schaub played he had 7th best qb rating that is important now because why? Roag how you feel bout that gm under getting kinda low line droppin under 7 does ten cover?

I was looking hard at the Tennessee/Houston under. Tennessee's defense looked great against a good Steeler offense (certainly better than Houston's), but...we still have to take into consideration these were the first games of the season and things will change. That's why I'm putting my heavy money on college football for now.

you think the saints are a better team then the eagles? i dont know about that. last year the eagles gave up 18ppg while the saints gave up 25. not much has changed after 1 week in 2009.

houstons offense sucks? this will be one of the more high powered offenses again in 2009.

rex ryan is a defensive mastermind, and i truly feel the jets defense was the difference sunday - not that the texans offense sucks.

lol - ok roag, now i see you're either a bitter texans fan or just a local texans hater

you're out of your mind if you think this is a bad offense.

matt schaub will easily be a top 5 qb in the nfl if he plays 16 games. 3rd stringer? lol

what criteria do you use to determine whether a team has a good offense. you have to use some kind of statistic to back up your point of view or it doesnt stand up. i just chose the fact that houston had the #3 ranked offense in the NFL to back up my statement that they were good. If houston continues to play the way they did sunday then I will agree that their offense sucks because sunday they did suck. I just believe the jets had a lot to do with that because ryan has a track record of having good defenses and i believe he has brought that to new york with him.

by the way Schaub played in 11 games last season and i used the QB rating because it takes into account a wide variety of statistics. if u dont like the qb rating then thats fine. I just think it takes a pretty talented QB to be rated that high. i think if he really sucked he would not have the stats he had.

not that i think it would have made a huge deal, but walter was out sunday.

listen, week 1 of the nfl, it makes sense that a good defense could shut down a good offense.

ryan is going to make a huge difference with that team. i had the jets not being good this year cause i didnt trust sanchez as a rookie - we'll see...

I posted this in another thread...guys monster lock is on the PATS

"I haven't completely capped this one yet because of MLB and CFB comes first, NFL will start on Thursday for me,but I have looked at the board and have some opinions...this game I can't agree, this doesn't mean I won't lay it down on the Pats but let's look at this for what it is...what makes you think they will be able to run the ball on the Jets...the Pats effectiveness against the Bills...who was the leader rusher for the Pats? Maroney...how many yards...32 yards...wow that's impressive! Who is the left offensive tackle? The left tackle is your anchor and tells you everything about the O line...Matt Light 9 year veteran who just didn't get it done...the O line is weak, small and slow. They got banged around and couldn't establish the run. Brady all he had was dip and dunk passes and couldn't extend the field. You don't think the rest of the NFL didn't go to school on the NY Giants defense on how to play the Pats?

The Pats defense stinks!!!! What kind of corner play was that...horrible! No Mayo no linebackers, no Pryor, no Seymour

I do believe this win straight up but lost ATS will help the public and the Jets performance week one will give an attractive line...this is a conference game early.

whta do we know...the Pats will score points, they have to outscore there opponent because of the horrid D they are going to play this year...so what does that mean...OVERS!!!!"

Eagles still have a great QB even if McNabb isnt starting. Jeff Garcia was been 4-1 in his last 5 games with Philly

I like the Pats, but I'd prefer the ML. I can totally see a late FG icing the game for the Pats.

It looks like the Pats are still finding their identity early this year. The Jets have found theirs and surprise, Rex Ryan, it's defense. I'm impressed with the Jets going into Houston and winning convincingly, I was all over the Texans. But the Pats are a different team, even if they are in a tailspin. Belichick will right this ship!

BTW, Belichick eats young QBs, check out his ATS numbers. I did a study last year and it's crazy how Belichick's ATS correlates with the experience of the opposing QB. The younger the QB, the better the Belichick's defense performs.

This should make for a very interesting match up! I like the under also.
