How are the saints a lock, they let up 27 points to Detroit Lions.
    Defense beats offense any day.
Take the Birds with or without McNabb.

How can you bet games and dont watch the teams. Apparently you did'nt see the Saints game ???

The Saints defense only gave up 2 touchdowns also forced 3 turnovers, and held Detroit to only 1 for 13 on 3rd downs.

Detroit points came from fumbles and special teams. The Saints special teams were horrid but I expect the fumbles and special teams to be fixed.

But the Saints is FORREAL THIS YEAR!! WITH THAT NEW DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR THEY HAVE HE HAVE THIS DEFENSE WAY BETTER THIS YEAR!!

I'm not going to bet it just my opinion.
I did not watch the Saints game and do think they'll be good this year.
This week could be NFC championship preview.
But the Eagles are for real as well and your gonna make them a home dog.

I just see so many other better games out there no way is Saints a lock.

On second thought I probably will take Eagles ML this week.

The Saints are the strongest play on the board Sunday

Careful. The Eagles have a damn good team, and Garcia is a gamer. I like the Eagles to win pretty handily in their home opener.

    1. No such thing as a lock.
    2. The Eagles have a damn good defense.
    3. Don't be too quick to forget Week 2 of last season. Saints pounded the solid Tampa defense at home Week 1, then went on the road against the 0-1 Redskins as 3 point favorites. Everyone thought they would win handily. They lost 29-24.
    4. Last season the Saints were 2-6 on the road. The two opponents they beat? The Chiefs and the Lions.
    5. In 2008 Brees threw 11 tds to 12 ints when on the road. Compared to his 23 tds to 5 ints at home, not so hot.

I'm not saying this to urge people to take the Eagles, just be cautious what you do here. Bear in mind that the two seasons before 2008, Brees played better on the road than at home. However, this Saints defense is still unproven and I need to see something indicating the Saints can compete on the road again before I feel like I can bet them. I likely stay away from the spread on this game, but I think the over looks like a pretty nice play.

Why is people talking about last year so much???? Thats how you lose money. This is a new year and teams had a whole offseason to improve on there weakness.

    Get smart people

    Default Lock?

When you are betting the NFL there is no such thing as a lock. The Vegas books aren't going to hand you a freebie...ever!
Phil. D and playing at home with the talk of McNabb and that the Eagles are in trouble..motivation for the Eagles in there home opener.Tough one..
    BEWARE...

Well ZBoiz, here's what you have to understand. Just because a team had an offseason to improve their weaknesses doesn't mean they did. Are you really going to value the Saints defense picking off a rookie qb making his first start on the road 3 times that much? That was absolutely no test for them. Although it is a new season, you can't simply ignore everything from last year. This isn't a completely rebuilt team, a lot of the pieces are still the same. I don't care if the Saints d has improved, there is no doubt in my mind that the Eagles' defense is superior. Why would you bet a team with so many unanswered questions and a poor history playing on the road? You can't just ignore that stuff. Save your money for smarter investments.

    Default Week 2 coming

Went 1-1 last week hitting SF and losing TB.There was alot to take from week 1.Teams that were expected to win and lost outright(Bengals, Texans, Cards) are they ripe to bounce back. All 3 will be dogs next week with the public pouncing on GB and Tenn.Tenn has had added time to rest and prepare for there game vs Texans which should help them considerably here..they played the champs hard and took them to OT in their own crib...impressive to me.

Here are some trends for week 2..something to think about

ROAD teams in the KC-OAK series are 16-4 ATS

ROAD teams in the NE-NYJ series are 17-3 ATS

HOME teams in the DALL-NYG series are 21-11 ATS

NE is 10-0 ATS @ NYJ since 1999

Good luck to all and I will post my picks Friday night.

and eagles just added Garcia who used to QB for them. Plus, Eagles record without mcnabb is solid.

Love Steelers -3 against Chicago. Although Troy Palomalu is out, so it Brian Urlacher. Don't see Jay Cutler beating the Super bowl champs.

Detroit is worse than the Florida Gators. You can't judge the Saints based upon that game.

not even close....eagles defense was forcin turnovers last week and their offense was very productive....garcia is good, and kolb can semi-manage a game sometimes....especially with the weapons he has around him. the birds should be able to keep up on the scoreboard even with the McRib(meryl hodge) situation. carolina was the only team to go undefeated at home last year.....eagles ran up in their house and ransacked their fridge and urinated on their sleeping children. saints defense is weak. not close to a lock homez.
