Default explain to me how football isnt fixed

it dont matter to me b/i had buf +3 and the punter did me a fav,but can anybody tell me why a punter w/ 8 seconds left would decide to run the other direction and score the other team 2 pt safety to run the clock out? why not punt, and who told him to do that?or did he take aponded himself thinking this was a good call, and dont tell me b/it's pre-season,it dont make any sense to me,is it that obvisous like wrestling now the nfl isnt even going to hide it and can u be @ least alittle inconspicous.it pushed so we all know what is said about a push it's like kissing your sister and i almost took buff @ +3.5 but @ -140 i passed and took the 3 no more 3's for me in pre,and i did this last yr it's @ least 3.5 why take the 3 for a push or fav ML or -2.5 love to hear all comments

i think every game in every major league is fixed. but then again, everyone thinks i'm crazy

Considering only 4% of all bets are placed in Vegas, I highly doubt this game was fixed. Keep in mind, if a game was going to be fixed, it wouldn't be so obvious.

Whats amazing to me is how they always fix the side i didnt pick!

Fixed games are usually blowouts. Since not all players, umpires, coaches, owners are involved in the fix the ones involved in the fix have to make sure the fix will be definitely successful in case the ones not in the fix sniff the fix out and decide they do not want to be involved in the fix. No fixes are left on chances.

    Like all of Donaghys games?
Seriously, sometimes fixes only involve one or two guys and are meant to payout long term rather than with a 100% success rate.

It made perfect sense to me...

If it were, say, 3 seconds left, you could take the snap, take a few steps back, and kneel. With 10 seconds left you had to kill clock, and that was the way to do it. If you kick the ball, you risk a return or a fair catch which sets up a bomb. If you don't run your ass off to the endzone, you risk getting your punter tackled.

Yes it sucked for Tennessee backers but I don't know how anyone came to the idea that it was fixed.

You have to be naive to believe Donaghys was the only one involved. This is what David Stern wants you to believe. Players, coaches, refs and owners have to be involved in a fix. Donaghy was the scapegoat.

That is the best fix because then you can hit a middle, if you go for a middle big payout with no chance of a big loss.

good point and did he have to cross the goal line?its j/alot of unsolved questions that arrive and that no 1 really has the answers for which makes it interesting to some its logical and others questions/i believe u add the human element in all SPORTS and it j/seems to convient to not only add a spread to a game but add an under and over so now your predicting the score and to do this almost every game and every week is awfully good or is that j/good CAPPING (alright) i believe if u r going to gamble and if u even believe this alittle the trick is to be on the right call it's j/something else to add in your heads,i believe someday some-1 will write a book and tell all ,how long he lives after the book is written is another story remember that magician who let all the trick out of the bag and all the other magician despice him now but yet he continues

Ugh.. most should have moved off that number and many did, so it wasnt a push for a lot of people.

Anyways.. did anybody catch Al's comment last night ? Talking about how that result at the end might have changed the result for some. Hmm.. do you think he might have an idea of whats up.

From the little bit I've seen, you come up with good stuff pavyracer. When do you think it will come out more NBA players are on the juice besides Rashard Lewis?

Al Michaels is the best and he ALWAYS makes betting references.

For example, if a 10-point underdog is getting blown out by 17 and then scores in the final seconds, he'd always say "And now for the all-important extra point!"

well i mean in this case the books wouldn't want a push because they don't profit at all now (although i didn't look idk what percentage of people had ten -3, it might have erased a loss). i do believe some games are fixed, i've seen lots of games where there's a huge head scratching play that changes a gambling outcome. but i think those games are few and far between, so i choose to just ignore it

The marquee players are all juiced. Ray Allen is juiced unless you believe a 38 year old can play 100 games a year for 48 minutes every night in the NBA and barely miss a shot.

the play was very legitimate, and will happen again many times over in the same situation.

i am a titans fan for years and can tell you jeff is one of the safest coaches out there - will not take ANY risk.

with ten seconds left, you can NOT punt, and if you down yourself too early the other team may get a chance.

guaranteed option to win is to back up and kick it out of the endzone or just run out of the endzone.

NOT EVEN CLOSE TO a fix.

I'm not weary of the players because they don't have complete control of the game.....the officials, referees, umpires, do.

I've seen some very odd things in my time, that would make anyone wonder no matter which side you were on.

Tim Donaghy confirmed some of this suspicion.

As for the other sports I have my theories, but I'm not getting into all that because I don't feel like typing for the next hour.

Basically Donaghy caused mass paranoia among the sports betting world. Every loss someone takes it makes it easy to justify by saying the game was fixed. The thing people need to remember is crazy plays happen, things happen, if you are on the right side of these game changing/deciding plays then you got lucky, if you are on the wrong side you got unlucky.

Are a small percentage of games fixed, of course....too much money involved, it is not like fixing games started yesterday. Back before the 1919 Black Sox scandal, everything in between, and whatever else is still to come. It will always be there.
