Link Broncos will not win more than 6 games in 2009

You can bank on it. I'm putting 1k for under 7 Broncos wins at -175. This should be an easy bet. Denver has not really address their defensive problems, their front seven is still despicable. This is the same horrible defense from last year that gave up 30 points with ease. This time around, they won't have an offense that will give this team a fighting chance with Kyle Orton at the helm. I see maybe a 5 wins season here, and tie for last place with the Raiders.

McDaniels is gonna be under a lotta heat by the end of the year thats for sure. He's taking over for Shany, a legend in that area. I agree with you, they don't win 7 games. Although I will say this, they will not lose because of Kyle Orton.

i think the broncos come in with 7 or 8 wins... good luck to you though. orton honestly isn't that big of a step back, he was great for the bears before he got hurt, he'll surprise a lot of people this year

If that's the case, then you shouldn't have any problem putting a future on Denver winning more than 7 then.

Last year Defense couldn't stop anyone, but atleast the offense can score. This year defense will continue to not stop anyone because they got no pass rush, and now the Offense won't be able to score if their lives depended on it.

Wow, I can see at least 3 more wins on that schedule than you do. Lakerboy is right, Orton is better than you think: steady, tough, game manager, minimal mistakes. He works his ass off to get better, too.

Denver's defense might be weak again this season, but the top half of their draft was focused on defense and they will get a boost out of those kids. And their top pick, running back Knowshon Moreno out of Georgia, is gonna be fragile but he is nimble and should put up a few good years if he can stay healthy. A decent running game will only help Orton, of course. Denver should get to 8 wins again this year. They lost three in a row at the end of last year and play in a weak division. Hell, they could go 5-1 against their division opponents alone.

I'll take the over. Shanahan blew 3 games a year in stupid play calling alone. His coaching staff did a poor job as well.

Orton had a very good team in Chicago and Denver does not have the same talent especially on the defensive side of ball.

    Denver goes 4-12 this year

    I agree.

Denver has the potential to be very bad. Outside of their weak division(San Diego will run the AFC west), their schedule includes NE,DAL,NYG,PHI,BAL,IND,PIT,WAS.

I think the under 7 is a good bet.

Chicago has been one of the least talented teams at offensive skill positions in the NFL for the past couple years, and they have gone 7-9 and 9-7 and missed the playoffs. Their offensive line was miserable last year and they ended up 26th in the NFL in yards, while Denver was 2nd. Chicago's running back (Forte) was their leading receiver and he had all of 63 catches last year. They drafted three WRs, trying to make up for woeful production.

Their defense was ranked 21st and Denver's was ranked 29th. Neither was very good.

Yeah, Denver could go 4-12. Their non-conference schedule is brutal, but traditionally they play very well at home. 6-10 or 7-9 seems more likely, and 8-8 is very achievable, which is why I would just stay away from this bet.

This thread doesn't have anything to do with the 3 interceptions Orton threw last night, does it? Obviously he's not as gifted as Jay Cutler, but I don't think the difference between them is night and day. I think it "could" be, but Cutler isn't there yet.

Denver isn't going anywhere because of their horrible defense, I don't think Orton is a really a problem.

Yeah, but Orton will be why they will win only 5 games this season

I think you'll be right in the end, frostno, I just wouldn't take the bet. Orton's three picks last night were an anomaly. He'll settle down and be the same game manager he was with the Bears, except he'll have more weapons.

If I had to predict, I think the Broncs will go 6-10, making you a winner, but 7-9 would be real easy to see, too. GL to you.

Denver is off to a 3-0 start. Sure, I can see them losing 5 straight starting next week, but I can also see them going 8-8 this season, even 9-7 if they pull off an upset. Orton has been what he has always been: a steady game manager who will rarely cost you a game.

Say what you want about their first three opponents, but their defense giving up 16 points all year? That kind of D is what will give them a chance in every game this year. And their running game, with rookie Knowshon Moreno and Correll Buckhalter combining for 198 yards against Oakland, that is new age Bronco football!

With Orton playing steady, the D playing tough, and the running game staying productive, I'm afraid frostno98 might be losing a grand at the end of this season.

Wow, after looking at their schedule I can see why you would say 5 wins. They still may only win 6/7 games even though they are 3-0. The two Kansas City games and Oakland look about the easiest remaining.

That first game should be nullified...bunch of BS...Hope you win your bet though. I have over on Cincinnati wins so that first game screwed me over. Denver doesn't look as bad as everyone thought though. I honestly think both teams are surprising everyone

Haha all the Bronco hate cracks me up. Before the season this is all that was said. Bronco's have a tough schedule, Cincy is the best team ever, and KC and Oakland are greatly improved. Where do I start. KC and Oakland are even worse than last year. They cannot even do the fundamental things right like down a punt. Okay the game at Arrowhead in December will be a tough but I can see 4 wins right there. Cincy has impressed me so far though but whatever Denver won. Who cares if it was a fluke play or not. Denver kept themselves in the game to have a chance to win. Now look at their schedule. Most of their toughest games are at home. At Washington? are you kidding me that is a win right there. Will the Redskins win a game this year? 8-8 or 9-7 looks good to me.

Look at the Broncos offensively. Their personnel groupings and substitutions are as sharp as anyone in the NFL. That is the sign of excellent coaching.

But the Broncos just might have the best D in the NFL...........I would place your 1k the other way.

    Broncos SHUT DOWN Cincy......

    Cincy beats GB at GB.

    Cincy beats Pitt...............

Raiders hang with San Diego................San Diego has an explosive offense.

Denver has allowed 1 TD this year.

Best D so far in the NFL.

A week ago, I also thought Denver was a soft 3-0.

I do not think they are that soft anymore, though. 4-0. And now they have the confidence to compete with anyone, especially at home. And Kyle Orton was absolutely, hands-down brilliant against Dallas, with a 117.5 QB rating. And rookie Knowshon Moreno and Correll Buckhalter are the real deal.

This could be a team to be reckoned with after all.
