Default My pick for the Giants game

As some of you may have read in a thread a made, i havnt had one correct pick this year when betting on a giants game. Well im posting this weeks pick.

I like the Giants - 13. Houston doesnt play well enough on the road to compete with these guys and the giants are looking to make a statement. They want to show their divison who is in charge.

    giants 30- 14

I happen to agree with Bigboy. But honestly, I can't see Houston staying in this game. They have everything going against them, and the Giants have everything going with them right now. This game should and probably will end 34-3.

Be that as it may; I ain't touching this game. lol

I am being careful with this one Italia_NYC ~ as you suggested in imgv's advance spread thread. (I got 12.5 earlier in the week). I've kept it to one unit as I don't love
NYG to cover huge spreads consistently, and I already cashed
in on last week's huge spread cover by NYG over TB. So to ask them to do the same again feels like going to the well once too often, but I just see the game ending up 34-3ish
like you suggest. I don't feel it's going to be one of those games where HOU hangs around. I also think NYG is on a mission . . . Pro Football Weekly Magazine, just for instance, had them picked for last in the NFC East. No respect. Eli the younger ~ living in the shadow. WASH/DAL
showdown - a chance to ensure a quiet divisional-lead enhancing road w. Coughlin: a good motivator. The only thing
that eats at the back of my mind is not a letdown but a backdoor cover.

Here's my kicker though, as I mentioned, I have NYG at 12.5
(from early in the week) but do I take them at a jerked
-13.5 as well in the pick'em pool? They always jerk those
numbers in those pools over the key football numbers too, it
can drive you nuts . . . oh well I guess HOU in the pool and
hope for a middle NYG by 13! LOL, GL this Weekend . . .

I'm with you on this one ~ though I got 12.5 earlier in the
week . . . it's a big number, but I think they do it and then
your curse will be over and you can say, 'shady's back'.
    LOL . . . GL . . .

Not that it should matter; but it looks like Burress will not be playing today. So they may only win by 20 instead of 30.

This is a tough one. NY is a tough place to play.

    My pool has NYG -13.5

I've picked Houston which may be a mistake.

Patience is a virtue my friend.

As interesting as this game may or may not have been, the G-men are not the Bears. Meaning they will not fold to a far inferior team.

It’s a little too early in the week to fully assess this game. The Giants avoided what could have been a big let-down, the Bears unfortunately did not. It was clearly obvious these two teams had each other on their minds yesterday.

I personally don’t think the Bears will allow this loss to linger into next week; as a matter of fact they should consider it a blessing. They only have one thing to focus on now, instead of two.

The Giants though, in the span of one week, have the possibility of missing 5 out of their 11 defensive starters (2 pro-bowl players included). Granted, the Giants have probably the best depth at defensive positions in the league, but this is no doubt a tremendous blow to them if they can’t get at least a few back for next weeks game. Due to this, I was a little surprised to see the initial line favoring the Giants by 3.

If the Giants weren’t battling all these injuries, I think it’s easy to like the Giants in this game. But there is a fair amount of uncertainty here, so I will reserve judgment until later in the week.

Another thing to consider is the atmosphere at the Meadowlands will resemble that of a Playoff game. And perhaps rightfully so. Whether or not this is a factor remains to be seen; but I do believe that alone was worthy of the 3 points.

Either way, as a football fan I just want it to be a good game; and I think this has all the marking to be just that.
