who did Al Micheals have tonight?

I was cracking up when atlanta kicked that fg with 22 seconds to go to go up six and Al says "well that kick made a lot of people happy and a lot of people unhappy"

    Classic stuff!!

Gambling is what makes the NFL go and yet they play these double innuendos, can't come right out and say it games. How about just come out and announce,"Atlanta favored by 4 covers with that fg!"

Every time an announcer makes a gambling reference someone always feels the need to make a thread about it. Kinda of retarded considering more is wagered on games than if you add up salaries on both teams. Big fukkin deal

    I'm assuming you are Canadian.

In the U.S.A., our politicians, along with the NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL, pretend to be morally appalled at the notion that people gamble on sporting events. This fake outrage is generally used to ensure that Nevada, state lotteries, dog tracks, and horse tracks have monopolies on gambling in their various regions of our beloved country. I like that people point out when an announcer makes a wagering reference because it legitimizes the idea that it's okay to gamble YOUR hard earned money on whatever the PHUCK you like!

The NFL wouldn't be half the league it is without gamblers and fantasy football. Does anyone really give two flying phucks about a match-up between Detroit and Jacksonville? EXACTLY!

I'm glad Al Michaels has the balls to say it. No one else does... sometimes Musburger does but very rarely.

In fact, does anyone know of any other announcer who as made a slang gambling remark?

rece davis brings up gambling a lot, in fact, the college gameday show on saturday morning is the most gambling talk you get in the usa for sporting events. corso saying "closer then the experts think" "someone knows something" etc. i saw an interview with al michaels recently he said he likes to cater to the gamblers because he knows thats a big part of the audience, which is good announcing/business IMO. musberger is just a full blown degenerate. i also think local announcer bill hilgrove (pitt) had a large chunk on the panthers saturday because he brought up how they were 17 point underdogs in the pregame and it was too many points at least 5 times.

“There are a whole lot of mathematicians across this country that are very interested in what is going on to end this game.”
