VT has the better athletes and the better program but this pick is the ridiculous home dog theory. Maryland wins this one and their season changes courses! However, they fall short of winning but do cover.
VT running game a bit dinged up but they still have their main weapon-Vick

VTech -10.5

Since their week 1 match up vs NC State, VTech has not been kept under 34 pts. Maryland's defense has had question marks this season and when it has performed well QB pressure has been a strength - Marcus Vick can elude that. Maryland, not including their 1 game vs Temple, has only scored more than 24 pts once. Hollenbach is a good QB but is still INT prone, and even in Maryland's one 45 pt performance he threw 2 INT's. Maryland has not faced a defense as good as VTech's, and their bye could actually get in the way of any offensive momentum. I think VTech 34-21 is a conservative prediction. That all being said, I seem to suck at picking weeknight NCAA games

While I think VT will win I am not sure about the cover, These Thursday night dog have been on fire 5-2 since the start of the year. Since it seems to me Mary is as 2 half team I look for VT -6 first half. I think Mary might get the back door cover late in the game and lose by 7. If VT is up big in the first half look to play Mary in second
