Hey again like I said earlier I am new to be sport betting world.. I don’t know much about it just enough to get by I’m looking for a mentor (I guess that’s what you could call it). I don’t trust the sites where you pay 30 dollars for 3 or 4 games because every time I have done those there were wrong. I want someone that could help me make good decisions and talk bets with me and maybe I could learn the math part that goes into the betting as well I would love to hear from some of you..

Take the guy from the post above as an example... Don't EVER pay someone for your picks, there is enough good, free info right here on the board.

If thats what you want to call it, I have never heard of someone consistantly betting over 60%.. If thats the case move to Vegas and make a nice living for yourself

2 years 64% is, like i said, unbelievable... I'm sure everyone on this forum would agree.. But if you do you should go to Vegas and make a nice living... simple as that.

You don't even belong in this forum... First off it doesn't take a big dog to turn 10 bucks into thousands if you're betting 64%... Give me some more background on how many games you have actually bet to acheive a 64% accuracy? Second off, look up the definition of a hater.. I told you to go to Vegas and be somebody if you are really that good, i don't think thats a hater. Im happy for ya kid if you can do that then you know somethin we don't... So let us in on your betting philosophy... Professionals can't even average 64% and your a kid!

i guess i have had a good run, i never thought of it as more than that...i could tell u one time who i like this week in the NFL and lets see how I do. maybe u agree with them maybe you dont, but after all, its a guessing game hence "gambling" not "winning"

"Sharp Sports Betting", by Stanford Wong. It is a good beginner book (thank you to whomever recommended it). It will give you the basics, and has some pretty good reference charts in the back. It is a bit simple for people who have sports bet for awhile, but the tables were worth the $14 I paid from amazon.

Just to reiterate....NEVER pay someone for picks. There is a great variance in short term betting, and even pro's won't hit 60% in the NFL over the long term. I hit high 50's in the last few years, and even hit in the low 60's until recently...and trust me, it doesn't last. I stick more with college, but I know there is plenty of good cappers here who offer their NFL game rational and picks for free.

thanks bones, like i said, i just go with my gut, and i have been on a good 2 year run. i wish everyone luck, but to say that I just make this up to seem like superhuman is ridiculous. I dont need to boost my ego like that. lets work together? who are u guys liking tomorrow? To ME, the NY Jets, Titans, and Miami look like solid plays, with my most confortable being the jets and tennessee...I would like to hear your imput

A guessing game... What, in your guestimation, would be the number of ATS sports bets you've placed in the past two years, while hitting 64%? 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000?

To answer your question dark horse, i would say I place on the NFL alone 4-5 solid bets each sunday. I also bet on college football, college basketball, the NBA, and even the occasional soccer game. whatever that averages out to, you can do the math

JRS, i hate laying a touchdown with a team on the road, eventhough the pats have the edge at every skill position, and for that matter, the coach

    Thanks.

So let's say about 10 bets minimum per week, spread out over 2 years. Let's average that out as 100 weeks, which brings the total to 1000 bets. So your record would be approximately 640-360 ATS.

    Pretty good guessing.

Google "Handicapping NFL" or "Handicapping 101" and learn about key numbers for football. 1,3,4,6,7,10,11,13,14,17 are very important numbers when dealing with football. Just for an example, this week, Carolina opens at -7 and moves to -9. Refer back to the numbers I listed and notice 8 and 9 are not listed. Do your internet search and this will make more sense as I do not want to have to teach while I am handicapping. Public money moves a line about a .5 point. You really have to pay attention to line movement among other factors. Do the internet search and be patient and test your theories. As someone else stated, 60% is really, really, really good. 52.4 % will break you even with 10% juice. Be prepared to lose and bet accordingly because that is the nature of the game while learning and then realize that losing is just a reality of gambling. Pay attention and you can win. Good luck.

On first exam I like Indy -17. Detroit has already conceded that they are going to run the ball all day. (A Titans fan living in Indy). Peyton can score on 1 or 2 plays. 17 is no problem when the opponent has no passing game.
The rest of my picks are: Wash -6.5
    TB +3
    Miami -6
    St Louis +3
    Pitt +3
    Carolina -9
    NE -6.5

These picks are not locked as I like to see non-actives for the day and use only a local bookmaker because I do not have an account in Vegas. Good luck everyone and Good thangs.
