Another losing Saturday, and winning Sunday. This is really odd, but we'll ride with it, and thus issue a caveat about our college picks: don't play them solely on the merit of us liking them.

Buy this if you have to, but don't lay more than -115. Actually the public is going to be all over KC, so wait as long as you can.

2* Broncos -2.5 vs. Chiefs
The Broncos have won and covered four straight at home against the Chiefs. Denver seems to have found some much needed punch with RB Dayne, and the Chiefs’ first two opponents have basically gift-wrapped two wins for KC. Despite the nice start, the jury is still out on the Chiefs defense. There are also solid trends backing this play. The Broncos are 9-2-1 ATS in September division games, and 14-5 ATS at home off San Diego. The Chiefs are only 6-14 ATS on the road off a division game.
Prediction: Broncos 31, Chiefs 24

1* Tennessee +7 @ LSU
LSU will have several different emotions flowing through them after the hurricane, new head coach, and home opener. Whether this works in their favor is yet to be seen. Their defense gave up plenty of points and yards to Arizona St., but we aren’t sure how much the Vols can capitalize on that, as they have been struggling to put points on the board. This is a small play because of the questions, but the Vols are 6-3 recently as a road dog, and we think they at least keep this close with their stifling defense.
Prediction: LSU 17, Tennessee 14

4* Brewers (Ohka) -145 vs. Reds (Ortiz)
A quick note about this selection. As a couple of you have half-jokingly noted, we do take the Brewers an awful lot. They are on a mission to finish the year above .500 (currently 77-78). Here are some quotes they have made recently:

Bill Hall - "We're not expected to be losers anymore, not in this clubhouse anyway. For us, that's one of our stepping stones. We want to get to .500 and keep moving from there."

Geoff Jenkins - "Finally finishing above .500 would be big. Obviously, we want to see it as much as the fans do. We've got a tough schedule the rest of the way. We've got a lot of home games, which bodes well for us; we've played well at home all year. We just keep pushing along."

A fan at Miller Park held up a sign last week that read, ".500 or bust!"

We really believe in this team, and think they are a potential breakout team next year. We will probably take them almost every day the rest of the season.
