Only one official football play today:

    4* Redskins @ Cowboys Under 36.0
This series is always tightly contested, and the Redskins have only increased the likelihood that this one goes under by benching Patrick Ramsey in favor of Mark Brunell. Ramsey has more big-play potential, and was more likely to turn the ball over. The Redskins will play conservatively with Brunell at the helm, and QB Portis will get the ball on numerous occasions. The Skins D is good enough to handle stone-footed Drew Bledsoe and the Cowboys running game.

I am also taking the Saints +3.5 (playing as if it was a 1*), though it is just an opinion for those who may want something on the early game. The Saints have covered 10 of their last 12 as a dog, and I think they have one more game they can win on emotion before getting blown away next week.

I'll post baseball later. There is one game that I have a strong opinion on, but I have to talk it over with my partner first.

    Got just a couple today:

    5 units---Colorado(Woo Kim) over San Diego(Lawrence) @ -109 @ Pinnacle
    2 units---Cleveland(Millwood) over ChiSox(Garcia) @ +101 @ VIP Sports

It has been a rough ride for me the last two weeks so take these plays with a grain of salt. I always try to say this (good or bad) in my postings in case a new poster comes across this thread and might think I know what I'm talking about. Good luck to everyone today.

    2* Oakland/Minnesota (Zito/Radke) Over 7 (-125)

Zito hasn't looked sharp and with Radke's shoulder problems, I'll take a shot with this total.

Might make action point plays with the NYG and Dallas later.

Rockies -108, The Padres don't want to be above .500, unbelievable. Good logic? No.

    Good betting strategy? No

    Why then? Hunch

    Why,

I'm betting the Rockies 2nite. My data says the Padres are worse than a .500 team. My data also says that the Rockies are better than a .412 team. Combine this with the Rockies being at home with a relatively good pitcher while Lawrence has struggled on the road recently, I am taking the Rockies.

Now, having said this, certainly the Padres should be motivated to win this game and every game they play from here on out. I just don't think they are good enough to make good on their motivation.

    Just an opinion.

Most of the books have it, but not Pinnacle. Cut and pasted from CRIS:

    Action Points
Action Points are available for football and basketball. Action Points are for the bettor who not only can predict which team will win the game, but by how many points. Your action point wager is capped from 1 point to a maximum of 10 points, and the wager you risk cannot exceed your available balance. On this type of wager, you risk $110 for every $100 wagered.

    Example:
    Atlanta Hawks 191
    Houston Rockets -5

    • Suppose you wager $100 a point on the Houston Rockets and ask for a cap of 10 points. Houston must win by at least 5 points, and for every point over the point spread of 5 that they win by, you win $100. You have the chance of winning between $100 and $1,000.
    • If Houston wins by 9 points, your net winnings would be $400. On the other hand, if Houston fails to cover the point spread, you risk $110 for every point that they fall short of the 5-point spread. You can also use totals either over or under, or the underdog in the game, getting 5 points.
    • Action Points can only be played on a point spread, i.e. a team to win a game.

So, I picked up 4 units on the Giants, because they won by more than 13.5pts. If they had won by 7, let's say, I would've netted 1.4 units. I know with Olympic and CRIS, you have to call in. With WWTS, you have to set it up over the phone, but they wanted me to always have a certain amount per Action Points bet (along with the # I wanted as the cap). At 5dimes, you can bet up to $250 a point up to 20 points (and they allow you to do it online), so max Action Points wager at 5dimes is 5.5k to 5k, but not all games on the board are available.
