Basketball Parlay of the Day Contest - Monday, 4/7/08

Starting Tuesday (April 1), we will start a new April Hoops Parlay Contest with a prize of $250 account at 5 Dimes, 3 time roll-over. Last place will receive a $25 5 Dimes account with a 3 time roll over. If there is a tie for last place in both units and game-by-game record (15 parlay minimum), there will be NO last place prize.

Before participating, players must PM their 5 Dimes account ID to SBRforum Staff

1. Check in the NBA BASKETBALL HANDICAPPING FORUM each day for the daily thread to be posted by LT Profits. Lines will be posted by 1:00 p.m. (ET) each day. Plays may be posted before that, but the official posted lines will be used for grading.

2. Posted spreads and totals are the only eligible plays for grading, no Money Lines or Halves allowed. NBA, NCAA Men's and beginning April 1, NCAA Women's games included.

3. Two-game parlay picks, laying 10 to win 26. Post entire parlay at same time, no open parlays.

4. Here’s the catch: Your play must include a write-up! The write-up does not have to be long, just a sentence or two about why you are making your play. If need be, please refer to prior month's contests for examples.

5. Entries that are past-post or do not have analysis for both games will be NO ACTION. Once your two-team parlay has been posted, you CANNOT change either play. Any edited post will count as a LOSS! If you make a mistake (such as leaving out "Over" or "Under" or not clearly stating your selection), need to add analysis or wish to enter corrected lines, do so in a separate post. This holds true even if the first game on the schedule did not tip off yet. It also holds true for past-posts and entries with no analysis. It does NOT hold true for posts that are not parlay selections, i.e. standings, commentary posts or congratulatory posts.

6. And here’s the fine print:

• Must be 18 years of age or older to participate.
• One entry per household and IP address.
• Must use lines posted in daily thread by LT Profits
• Maximum one parlay pick per day, minimum 15 parlay plays required to be eligible for monthly prize.
• Tiebreaker for first place - Win % of individual parlay legs. If still tied, combatants will carry on a head-to-head parlay match until winner determined.
• All decisions made by SBR with regards to this contest are final.
• SBR employees eligible to participate but are not eligible to win the monthly prize.

NOTE: For the MEN'S NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP GAME ONLY, we are waiving the "No first halves alllowed" rule. However, keep in mind that you CANNOT parlay the Game Spread with the First Half Spread, or the Game Total with the First Half Total. Thus, there are only four types of parlays that will be allowed for tonight's game:

1 - The usual Game Spread and Game Total

2 - Game Spread and First Half Total

3 - Game Total and First Half Spread

4 - First Half Spread and First Half Total

#701 KU +2 :the Jayhawks get the Monkey off their back and win one, and the Tigers go back to just being the best team in C-USA.

#701 KU/Memp ov 146 : most national championships seem to be 70 something to 70 something, i don't see why this one won't be the same.

Memphis -2: Taking the team with the better record at 38-1.
Game Total OVER 146: Kansas plays good D but I think there is too much offensive skill on the court and this game will creep over after late game free throws.

Prediction: 78-72 Memphis

Men’s NCAA Basketball

Memphis U -2 -- These guys are just tough...I think Kansas will come out a little flat after that big win to get them here.

Memphis/Kansas over 146 -- This is the championship game and I think that there will be a lot of scoring.

Memphis has looked great defensively and I can't see KU getting near as many open looks in this one.

I like this considering both teams will play hard nosed defense and even though they like to run I don't think they will get a lot of good looks.

like memphis to civer this small spread; teams are very much alike and big difference is turnovers. memphis is averaging 6 in the tourney and kansas had 19 vs nc, 13 vs davison, and 18 vs nova. think these extra possession should give memphis around 6 to 8 point win.

memphis/kansas over 146

both teams like to run and look for around 158 scored here with late fouls by kansas. both teams can play some d but memphis scored 78 on very good ucla team and collisun could not keep up with memphis guards. only problem I see if memphis misses free trows when they are in 1 and 1.
