memphis can terrorize you driving to the basket. they are mediocre behind the 3 point line. plus when memphis breaks teams down off the drive, people have to help and that opens up the lob and offensive rebounds.

initially i thought kansas would outrebound memphis but i see memphis outrebounded pretty much everyone they played because of quickness and decent size also.

i am off my kansas and total play for the moment. the more i look at memphis the more uncertainty i see in a kansas play. kansas needs to shoot their 3's with confidence and i saw a little bit of shakiness from them on saturday when NC made a bit of a run.

not sure how much zone kansas has played but I would give it a shot if i was them. kansas needs to keep those bigs clogging the lane to deny drives and surrounded the defensive board. make memphis hit 3's and mid range shots. if they hit them, so be it but don't let them beat you with their strengths.

wasn't it just a week ago when texas TRIED to play zone against memphis... and we saw how that ended up

i didn't see a lot of that memphis v texas game

i would still definitely do it depending on if they practiced it some throughout the year

if they've never practiced playing zone then tomorrow would be a bad time to start but i really like the idea

It doesn't matter whether you play zone or man against Memphis, the key is keeping Rose out of the lane. If he's allowed to drive and dish or drive and shoot ... KU is meat. That's the key to the game in my mind. I think the bigs cancel each other out. Guards/SF will decide this.

the vols did this using a match-up zone, which was effective. I dont think KU has enough bodies to throw at Rose...
