Default Ncaa BBALL fellow cappers and posters

Its over for me.

Lost again today.

Thats it for me everyone. Im deleting my SBR account. To much time consuming and doesnt help my efforts to quit gambling. Im reevaluating alot in my life right now, and this is a step towards quitting my recreational gambling. Had a nice little run going for about 3 weeks or so, but Had 3 bad losing days. Always glued in front of my computer watching scores or SBR and even my cell phone when Im out. Not the the life I want to live anymore, especially since Im still young and in college. It all leads up, betting small amounts like I am now, and then large bets which is where guys lose everything. Got to many good things going for me, and dont want to turn my little hobby into a serious losing addiction.

Best of luck to everyone and God Bless.

your giving up?

man. I'm out of college basketball myself, and after tomorrow super bowl i'm not even touching anything untill NCAA tournament time, and NHL playoffs.

I know what you mean. It's sort of 24/7 job.

Last season I did the same thing, but during the NCAA tournament my favourite team was in it, and I never even betted on any of the games untill the final four.

My team winning through the sweet 16 wore me out!

This year i'm going to be on the tournament, and that's it even if my team is in the tourny.

Also NHL playoffs are good to bet on. GO FLAMES!

Try to come back on when your ready, but just try to map out a route to success. Like bet on only the BIG GAMES, or 1 game a day unless there BIG games. Don't search for games.

well i'm shocked your leaving us, but take care and see you soon.

You take care of yourself my friend! If you do comeback, stay away from Tv games and maybe a few less games, and go away and at the end of the night check your results. Less stress, from what I've seen, you are a hell of a capper! Don't let it get you down. God bless you!

Sportsguy, let me help you here. Just like with anything else you need a plan to succeed. The first thing you need to do is limit wagers to about 2.5% of your bankroll. That pretty comfortably allows you go go through bad times. If you are using a chase system you need to lower that to about 1% or .5% of your bankroll.

You also need to ONLY play games that you feel really good about. Nothing just for having some action.

Make your wagers and walk away. It is really that simple. Scoreboard watching does not change the outcome of the game and only drives you crazy. Some guys can scoreboard watch and handle it fine, others cannot.

Make your wagers and walk away.

If you feel you are making wagers to just have action then you need to quit now.

Right now it looks like you do not have the money to wager to make a living. So wager for investment purposes.

If you made an extra $50 a week that would be a help right? That is a measly $7.15 a day you need to win. Sure, not much but so what! It is a start!

And one more thing....unless you have a good chase system you NEED to bet same unit amounts per game. There are some guys that can make much larger wagers on certain games but that usually does NOT work out well for most.

As an example: Let's say (for easy calculations) that you are betting $10 a game. So you bet five games. You win 3 of them for a 60% win clip. But....But...you made four $10 wagers but the other one was a $30 wager. And guess what, the $30 wager lost!

So you lost $33.00 on the $30 wager. You lost $11.00 on the other loss. So you lost $44.00 on the losses.

You won $30 on the three winning wagers. So you went 3-2 and LOST money. You should NEVER go 3-2 and lose money!

That is a very poor way to wager contrary to what some of these guys tell you. It is hard enough to pick 60% or better without having to decide which is your HEAVY bet, which is your BIG bet, which is your LARGE bet. All of that is B.S. and just a way for most guys to sound bigger than they are. It is a bunch of crap.

If you look at some of these so called "big boys" you will see them lose a LOT of their HEAVY plays. Now they need to win a lot of their REGULAR bets to make any money.

Stay with a flat bet about per game. That is real important. Why don't you see these guys that promote different wager amounts on different games EVER posting what that amount actually is on a game? Because for most it does NOT work.

So start small, make your wager amounts the same, make the wagers, walk away. Learn some sound handicapping principles.

I can tell you right now with absolute certainty that chasing is the surest way to make money but you need to be betting small amounts compared to your bankroll. When you have a good chase systems you will consistently MAKE money. Not consistently lose money.

Chasing is not for everyone, mainly because most don't understand how it works.

Don't get caught up in what you see some of these guys wagering. Most of them are full of shit and desperate to make any money at all.

Slow and steady wins the wagering race.

Wise choice. Never be afraid to hang it up for a while, or forever. This stuff can be addictive and consume your life. No reason to miss out on the really important things.

The end goal is to be able to balance wagering with all the other things in life and still be successful(at the wagering). A very very tall task, and one I don't think anyone ever masters.

I thought DevilDog's post was quite reasonable. Alot of people get in trouble by not following certain rules, and DDog very eloquently listed some of those rules. And when Sportsguy is ready to come back, then he (and all of us) would be wise to heed those rules, at least in the early going.

Anyway, GL Sportsguy. There is nothing....NOTHING....more valuable than an education, so study hard, get your degree, and earn your way back to the action.

Yeah dude, if you're still in college you should be worrying about passing classes and not winning wagers. I know this can be very addictive, and I for on am, but I'm also 43. Go to class and get your education, if that's what you want to do in life. Watching the scores on the computer and stressing out about it is not the way to live if you are still in school. Go out and have fun this shit will still be here when you get old like me.
