Saw a comment that WVU's offense gets easier to defend the more you see it. Not sure if the record bears that out -- but IIRC Boeheim saw them twice last year, including in the tourney.

Also, doesn't this have to be a tough trip for WV right on the heels of UConn?

I like it at first glance as well img. I'm surprised actually that they are only -1.5 favorites.
Playing Syracuse is all about matching up with their zone defense. I'll have to look into how WV has done this season against other 2-3 zone defenses. I agree they need this one. BTW, nice call on NC today, I cashed in too. Let's stay hot.

With all this talk about road favorites it's making me want to bet
W.Virginia. Road favorites are not that bad. Especially around
this time of the year when good teams do not want to lose bcuz
of tournament positions and etc. If road favorites are such a bad
bet why doesn't everyone just bet every road dog there ever was?

    You know why?

Cause they lose there share of games as well. I think
it's getting way too trendy to say oh I don't like road
    favs.

I'm leaning towards West Virginia at -1 at Pinny. still too close too call though...

I'll have to look at this game all day to make up my mind whether or not to play it or skip it.

WV jacks up on average 26 3es on the road and makes 32% compared to 35% in all games. Means they are one 3 better at home than on the road basically. L2 years WV's total FG% at Syracuse has been a weak 36% while Syracuse shot well over 45% in those same games. This suggests that either Coach Boheim knows how to defend WV or WV just doesn't shoot well on Syracuse home court. Given all that Syracuse has been a cash burner this year and the last 3 years at home. They are 4-10 ATS at home this year and a disturbing 13-30 ATS at home the L3. Of course that doesn't mean Syracuse sucks out loud at home as much as it does them being over valued at home. Final analysis is that we all know WV lives and dies with the 3 and Syracuse knows how to limit the damage. Both teams need the game, Syracuse has been playing a little better and if you put a gun to my head I gotta go with the Orange.

After much deliberation on this game, I think it is a very tough game to call. I lean toward WV but the line movement (or lack there of) suggests Syracuse. I think we should look elsewhere tonight.

This is a good stat. I utilize this type of stat often when I'm looking at a game where one of the teams uses the 3 as their primary offensive weapon. Almost invariably these kinds of teams are more comfortable on their own baskets. The double-edged sword in this matchup is that Syracuse depends heavily on McNamara's 3s and he is quite comfortable in the Dome. He looks like a different player home and away.

I had wv - .5 for the first half.

I think the gambling gods were with me cause it looked like I didn't have a snowballs chance in hell of cashing that ticket.

Wow! That's a nice catch DM. That's like hitting your set on the river because they were dominated for 19 minutes.

I dug down deep to cap this game and sure enough it got down to a missed 3 here or there. I covered Syracuse with chump change...not a game you would want bet your left testicle on.

Humorous to me that Syracuse got every call at home (0 FTs for WVU - unheard of), and Texas Tech hasn't gotten a call all night in the second game.

I rented Casino and have been watching it off and on tonight. I know what happened in those games but I gotta keep my mouth shut.

I had Syracuse for two units. This was a very tough game to cap and I feel very fortunate to get a win.

Yeah, I should have just taken the total (easy to say now), but really felt WVU was in a good spot to get a win tonight. Oh well, nice hit Illusion and others.

this was one of those games that if played 100 times, WV would of won
50 times and Syracuse 50 times.
