Default Arkansas vs Indiana.... Any thoughts?

I'm leaning strongly to Arkansas but not sure why I'm having a hard time pulling the trigger on this one..

Would like some thoughts on this matchup and know if anyone here is on anyone strong.. Thanks in advance

I have arkansas upsetting indiana in all my brackets. ARkansas points would be my play.

    Wrong team favored.

The problem with Arkansas is they're a completely dysfunctional team, as evidenced by beating Tennessee one day and losing to UGA the next. This team is fully capable and has the talent to not only beat IU, but also beat UNC in round 2 (seriously). Similarly, it wouldn't surprise me if they lost by DD to the Hoosiers.

Arky does match up rather well with IU - DJ will have his hands full offensively with Steven Hill (SEC defensive POY last season). DJ will probably have to guard both Charles Thomas and Darian Townes at times, and in both cases he's at a disadvantage. As much publicity as Gordon gets, Arky's backcourt is better. It basically comes down to what Arkansas team shows up. They play at or near their potential they win this game.

    I played Arkansas +1.5 small.

I like Ark. as well. Along with what rjt said, I really think the x factor in this one is Eric Gordon. Is he going to come out and penetrate, dishing to DJ and create some scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates? Or is he going to make a lot of the same freshman decisions he's been prone to make throughout the season with turnovers and horrible shot selection? I'm laying off of this one, however. I can't be confident in either side...

I actually didn't realize this was an upset, assuming Arkansas was favored...LOL

That right there should give you an idea where I'd go here. Arkasnas is very athletic and Indiana is used to dealing with the plodding Big Ten teams. Plus I think Indiana has covered just one game since the coaching change

Indiana has much better athletes but has mailed it in for the season. I am playing Arkansas in this game. I still think Pelphrey is a good coach and can bother Indiana on the defensive end.

I've been sorting through the stats to find an edge in these 8-9, 7-10 type games. I'm looking at shooting percentages and defense mostly.

Most of the stats between these 2 are even except for 1.
Indiana makes 76.3% (Top 10 in the country) of their FT's. Arkansas makes 67.2% of their FT's. Assuming these games will be close at the end, I'm taking the team who can make a FT. Indiana for me.

Normally I grab the spread but on this one just took Ark at +105. I just can't fathom this being any worse than a coin flip. Until Gordon remembers how to shoot again I think you have to take your chances and fade Indiana.

Im on Indiana in my brackets, I guess Im the only one.

Tournaments time is a place for super stars to shine.

Eric Gordon and DJ White are the best two players in the game. Those 2 alone can carry this team over arkansas and give UNC a run.

Remember this team was top 15 most of the year.

I'm rooting for IU-- but as people in here have implied, it just depends which IU team shows up. (And which Arkansas team shows up, for that matter...) Based on recent performance, you'd have to take Arkansas-- but if Eric Gordon shows up for the first time in weeks-- watch out.

    Default Indiana by double digits

Indiana should win this game somewhat easily they are a better defensive team have better athletes and have better shooters. Yes they have played poorky lately but now is their time to shine, Gordon and whites last ride they will win easily and give UNC a run for their money.

Sonny Weems, Arkansas' leading scorer, hurt his knee in practice today. Good news for those on Indiana. He is still expected to play, however. The extent of the injury isn't really known yet.

I'm probably just going to stay away from this game. Too much B.S and if this and if that.

Ark rolls. IU can't overcome the loss of a coach they loved. Gordons outside shooting has been bad recently. Ark is more experienced in the tourney. Arks front line is too athletic for IU. Expect DJ White in foul trouble leaving IU with no big men
