Arrow College Basketball Invitational (CBI) Tournament

    College Basketball Invitational (CBI) Tournament

2008 will mark the inaugural College Basketball Invitational (CBI) Tournament featuring 16 deserving teams who do not get the opportunity to play in the NCAA or NIT Tournaments. As a result of the addition of the CBI Tournament, 113 Division I basketball teams will continue their seasons after the conclusion of conference tournament games. According to the CBI's official Web site, "teams will be invited based upon their performance during their conference and non-conference schedule, as well as how well the team is playing at the end of the regular season." Unique to the new CBI Tournament will be the CBI Championship Series, a three-game series between the final two teams to determine the CBI Championship.
2008 will be the first year of the CBI Tournament, giving 16 extra teams the chance to play after the regular season is over.

The more college basketball the better. We get to see more match ups that we don't regularly see. I think it is good.

How do you guys feel about the CBI Tournament?

Old Dominion and Nevada both jump out at me. Ohio ML seems good too

Tournaments are great, it's like bringing the Humanitarian Bowl to Basketball. We don't really need it, but if you can bet on it then why not?

The Championship is 2 out of 3? That's interesting. I don't know why an absolutely meaningless tournament would need that.

Rider wins this game outright. Anyone whose seen them play know they have two stars inside who can punish these midmajors.

Not that it makes any difference, but for the record, the 113 teams in the post-season is the exact same amount as recent years. It is just that the NIT went down from 48 to 32 teams this year, so the teams that would have been seeded 33-48 in past years go to the CBI.

What do you guys think of the three game series finale? It's an interesting concept in my opinion.

If Ryan Thompson is back tonight - listed as probable - absolutely agree RIDER ML is a great bet.

Seton Hall couldn't get invited to any postseason?

    How about Cincy or Providence?

Anyone one of those 3 teams would beat rider or Old Dominion.

2 out of 3 to determine the 99th best team in the country are you serious, that got to be a joke, but it gives you an extra 1 for sure possible 2 college games to bet on so thats a plus. Hell give me the team down 0 1 to win 2 in a row and crown their ass the cbi champs, you think they gon have a series price
