I like Purdue's length on the perimeter to slow down the outside game of Baylor. They'll have some trouble containing the dribble but I have to believe their on the ball pressure will present a lot of problems for Baylor. I forgot about the youth of this team long ago (although Martin showed it and got benched against Illinois).

Baylor is very very overrated and the committee owed them a favor, they lost to Colorado, no team that loses to colorado should get in the dance....

by the way, dont let the boxscore fool you, they didnt lose a tight one to colorado in 2 OT, they got their ass kicked by colorado for about 35 minutes....

sometimes people overthink lines like these and call a line with great value a trap.... this is one of those times.... purdue the much better team.... imgv is right, the only way baylor has a chance is if purdue's inexperience gets the best of them

I have always felt that great defensive teams don't fall victim to inexperience as much. You don't need experience to play D...inexperience can prevent them from shooting well though.

I actually disagree and think Baylor will win this game. Baylor would certainly look a lot better to people if they played in the Big 10 and I think Baylor has a good chance to not only beat Purdue, but the winner of the Georgia-Xavier game.

We all know Baylor shoots within 15 seconds of the shot clock and they love to jack up threes. The only team in teh Big Ten that plays that style is Purdue. They are young but Baylor's D is so bad that I dont think it will matter. Love the over!!!

Funny how this line of thinking does not apply to Purdue who lost to #10 seed Illinois in overtime on a neutral court. I would say any team that loses to Illinois probably does not deserve to be in the tournament.

This is a really even matchup in my opinion. I think the committee tiped their hand when they seeded the Big Ten teams relatively lower than what was expected.

Then the lines come out and money for the most part coming in against Big Ten teams

Wisconsin opens -15....down to -11
Michigan State -7........down to -6.5
Purdue -3..........down to -2.5
Indiana -2.5...........down to -1

Basically, bettors are selling on the Big Ten teams and I don't really blame them.

Big Ten is a relatively weak weak conference. Clearly the weakest of the 6 major conferences. Seeing Minnesota and Illinois in the semi-finals this weekend only verified that belief. I don't think I would be in much of a rush to back Purdue personally and if anything, I might take a strong look at Baylor if you can get +3 or higher.

Purdue's loss to Illinois is much different than Baylor's loss to Colorado. Purdue was already almost guaranteed an at large bid. Baylor, meanwhile, was still on the bubble. Baylor choked. I really like Purdue in this one. They have been consistent throughout their regular season schedule. That can't be said for Baylor. They have made it a habit of coming up short in the big games...

I also just wanted to mention -- and some might think I'm crazy -- but Colorado wasn't all that bad. They hardly ever won, but they were actually an excellent dog bet. I won a few good bets with them. Very scrappy team, with a decent coach, IMO. And teams tended to look past them. Remember, Colorado beat Oklahoma too (albeit that was in Boulder). I'm just saying that the Baylor loss to Colorado might not have been all that sinful.

You don't think Purdue will be motivated coming into this one? You also must not think Baylor was motivated in a near must W situation against CU? Very well could be but I highly doubt that motivation plays a role in this game as both teams will come in on a mission to prove everyone wrong.

I'm much more confident that Purdue takes care of Baylor than I was that they'd beat Illinois for the 3rd time (although I did think they'd get it done SU). I thought that line was spot on and it could have gone either way down the stretch. You just tip your cap when a 30% 3PT shooter goes 6-6 from beyond the arc down the stretch.

I've seen more chatter across the web talking about a Baylor W than Purdue covering. The actual percentages I've seen grabbing Purdue, while greater, don't seem to be overwhelming compared to many other favorites.
