"System" #1
One of the oldest NCAAB systems around happens to be one of the most successful. It's one that most experienced sports bettors have heard of, but possibly didn't realize its success.
"System" #1 is simply wager on any unranked team that is favored at home over a ranked team. That's all there is to it. An example of this would be my posted play last night with #20 Northern Iowa @ (unranked) Wichita State. Unranked Wichita State was the favored (-3) home team vs. a ranked opponent. RESULT: Wichita State 60, #20 ranked Northern Iowa 51.
The rationale behind the system makes sense, as you're taking a good team, as evident by the fact that they are favored over one of the top 25 teams in the country, who is playing in front of the home fans. The team, along with its fans, tend to get up for these games, wanting to prove they are just as good than the ranked team. You can expect the home team to give its best effort.
Thats all there is to "System" #1, pretty simple.
"System" #2
The second part of the system, or "System" #2, that isn't as widely known, is to wager against these home teams in their next game if they did cover the point spread against the ranked team.
Unranked teams that do knock-off the ranked teams (Such as Wichita State as mentioned above) are ripe for a letdown in their next game, and are often spent emotionally, as well as physically, and many times have trouble getting up for its next opponent.
Thats as simple as it gets for the novice bettor or the experienced bettor who doesnt want to spend alot of time capping games or doesnt feel comfortable tailing others. This also gives you a set of guidlines to follow that have been around for a long time and is successfull year in and year out.

As a example of "System" #2 since Wichita State was a "System" #1 winner we will fade them ATS in their next game which is on 01/23/2010 @ Drake. ( I will post that play the day of the game)

I'm not sure what that comment has to do with this thread but i will simply answer by saying i don't compare myself with or against others. We are all here for the same reason...to make money and learn from each other. I'm not sure what you mean by a fake. As i stated earlier i spend alot of time handicapping sports and every play i post i wager. I also enjoy trying to help others make money and i try to provide ideas i have learned over the years to help others. GL to you and you are aways welcome here to post your thoughts.

I like Wichita State to lose to Drake on the 23rd! I've actually heard of both systems and they seem legit and make sense. Best of luck to you!

I will also be adding a NBA TOTALS "System" in the NBA forum for the remainder of the season to see how it does. It's in the "trial" stages so tail with caution but i was told it also does quit well. I will post the simple NBA TOTALS "System" later today.

I really like this system. It does not have plays every day but this is a good formula to follow and back tracking the 2 systems the records are pretty good. It looks like these 2 systems should produce about 100 plays during the entire NCAAB season. We will see how it does the remainder of the season.

What about a lower ranked home team vs a higher ranked away team?
For example: #19 Georgia Tech yesterday was favored (-1) at home against #17 Clemson and won 66-64.
Next game for Georgia Tech is at Florida State on Sunday the 24th. I could see GT losing that for sure. I doubt I'll play that (at least not without seeing the matchup on the day of) but it'll be interesting to keep an eye on this too!

Come to think of it... If Florida State is favored in this matchup (which they could be) we could see a system 1-system 2 overlap!

FYI: There are 3 unranked teams playing at home tonight vs. ranked teams but all of the unranked home teams are dogs so they are all no plays. Remember to fit System #1 the unranked home team MUST be the favorite.

I'm sure there are many different systems or styles of wagering you can develope but what you mentioned is not apart of these 2 systems.

Well first of all, i was referring to my potential amendment o system 1, in which i considered looking at a lower ranked home team against a visiting higher ranked team.
Secondly, it is still possible for systems 1 and 2 to overlap as is. An unranked team beats a ranked team at home, becomes ranked before their next game, then plays against an unranked team on the road and is the underdog.
Here is a possible (but unlikely) senario: UNC becomes unranked and Duke starts to fade. UNC becomes the favored team at home when Duke comes to town Wednesday Feb 10th. UNC wins, which convinces enough people to put them back in the rankings. Then the following game (on tuesday), they play a surging North Carolina State team on the road (they play NC State at home this year but bear with me) and are considered underdogs. That would be an overlap.

Reminder: We will have a "System" #2 play on the 23rd in the Wichita State/Drake game. There might be a "System" #1 play before that play but i will have to check the schedule and odds to see.
