Good unit sizing keeps giving me the profitable day. Try to keep that going.

Long Beach State +17 to win 2 Units
Notre Dame doesn't play enough defense to lay 17 against anyone. They have played two terrible teams (North Florida and St Francis) and only won by 21 and 23. Long Beach State can keep this one within 15 tomorrow for sure. They have enough size to keep Harangody and Hansborough from killing them and that really is all ND brings to the table this year. They lost K-Mac and Ayers which I think they really miss this year because they helped spread the floor to make room for Gody inside.

Dayton PK to win 3 Units
Good early season match up here. Dayton #21 vs Georgia Tech #19. One of the bigger games Dayton will play this year as they have a quick chance to prove themselves legit. You always have to love playing the smaller conference team in this spot as they just have so much more to play for (like Butler last night). As if that isn't enough in this case I think Dayton is the better club. They return a ton and I am not as sold on Georgia Tech as most are.

Miami -5.5 1st Half to win 2 Units
Miami lost McClinton but don't be fooled they still have the tools to be a tournament team. Collins is a great player and I don't know if anyone on Tulane will be able to stop him. Miami is very deep and rebounds the ball well throughout the team. They don't have the star they had last year in McClinton but the depth and leadership of Dews and Collins should be enough for Miami to get an early lead on Tulane. I may play the 2nd half depending on how things look.

South Florida +110 to win 3.30 Units
South Florida has already covered two numbers for me this year and they have done it pretty easily in both cases. Davidson getting a lot of respect because of the name but Curry is gone and they are going to sink back into your regular mid-major team. South Florida is going to keep surprising people this year, people aren't accustomed to them having a good basketball program but this team is very athletic and long and they have two scoring threats that will cause some havoc against anyone they play. Glichrist and Jones are big matchup problems for Davidson. South Florida is too big, too long, and too athletic to lose this one. Not to mention they are playing great defense.

California PK to win 5 Units
My first 5 unit play of the early year. This just makes no sense to me. I have it at California -6. I have to say they really impressed me when they beat up on Detroit. They have great balance and can win without or without that top ranked 3pt game. Not to mention Syracuse plays little to no perimter defense at times and has a habit to get caught in a shootout. Now some people are saying this years Cuse squad has a shot to be better then last years. Ok, I don't nessecarily disagree but at this point in the season they aren't better. They lost Flynn, Harris, and Devo and now the weight to carry the team falls onto Onuaku and Rautins. Rautins is good but he takes some bad shots and is more of a sixth man Ginobli type to me rather then the person who is going to carry the team. Onuaku is very overrated. He played soft all last year and is one of the worst foul shooters I have witnessed. Syracuse is going to rely a lot on Rick Jackson who is a legitmate player down low but he may have trouble keeping up with the athletes on California.

Miami fails to cover by the hook but they are dominating the boards and I think they are going to run away with this one soon.

Honestly, that was a bad mistake I typically never make. I didn't read Cal's injury report. They were missing probably their best all-around player along with another key player. Assuming the two teams are 100% healthy and meet again I take Cal again. I never don't read an injury report but two nights ago as I was locking these plays in I didn't even look as I was rushing because I had to meet somebody. Bad mistake by me. Congrats Brakon if you cashed Cuse.
