Default Sonics fire coach Bob Weiss

i still can't believe the sonics replace mcmillen with weiss in the first place. you would have assumed that the sonics would have learned he wasn't head coach material, when he was the coach of the hawks way back when.

He actually did OK with the Hawks, although I don't remember the talent he had, but he did make the playoffs. But it was a terrible hire. The guy hadn't been a head coach in the league for 10 years. But Bob Hill? What, Chris Ford or Gene Shue weren't available? These NBA teams rehashing these same coaches is crazy. The Sonics are going nowhere.

Would like to see Hill's first game against San Antonio and whether he talks or shakes hands with Gregg Popovich, who fired him in San Antonio after a 3-15 start the year Robinson was out with a back injury. Hill actually did a decent job in SA the prior two years and got a bad deal with that firing. SA then tanks the season and gets Tim Duncan. Now Popovich has the best job in the NBA. Hill must have wondered "what if."

when wiess coached for atlanta he had Wilkins, spud webb, and john konkac. and, if it wasn't for Wilkens scoring 28 a night they wouldn't have even made the playoffs with him as the coach.

Like you said above, Bob Hill got fvcked really hard when he coach the spurs. how couldn't Popovich achieve success with those two true centers.
