Vince Carter Opts Out Of His Contract

Is it just me or did this guy make a mistake by opting out of that contract today?

I don't know if it's a good strategy for him or not, but he never seems happy wherever he is. He wanted out of Toronto, now he opts out of NJ contract. If I'm a GM, I use that as a negative in negotiation. What if he comes to my team and wants out of that contract too?

A lot of Nets higher brass thinks he'll come back to NJ next year though. If that happens wouldn't it be at a pay cut if anything at all, because he's basically testing free agency.

The Cavs thought the samething about Carlos Boozer too, and he bailed to Utah.

Just think if the Cavs had boozer this year. They might have won a game against the Spurs
